• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Trailer Question

I have a Harley Road Glide and my wife has an F3S. We trailer both with a 7 by 16 foot enclosed trailer with a 24 inch V-nose. I pull my Road Glide all the way to the front of the “V” where I have a Condor mounted. The F3 goes in next. We mounted e-track on the floor and secure the F3 and Harley...

    Belt damage

I wouldn’t replace the belt right now, I’d just monitor it. As far as the nicks are concerned, how big are they? If they’re simply small nicks I don’t why theres a need to replace the pully? Are you sure your dealer wasn’t a Harley dealer before selling a Spyders?

Insurance - Anyone have any history with Markel?

I've read where rates in Canada are crazy high. Why is this? You guys can only ride six months out of a year.

Insurance - Anyone have any history with Markel?

We had Markel for about five years. I had the opportunity once to assist their fraud department with an investigation before I retired. They’re a good company and specialize in power sports insurance. That being said, they began raising my rates like all companies seem to do. I eventually...

Migration from two-wheel motorcycle to spyder

I haven’t switched yet, but I know I’ll have to. Sooner than later medical issues will make it a necessity. My wife has an F3 that I ride. I didn’t like her former ST because it was too buzzy. Honestly, I’m finding her F3 really enjoyable with the larger engine, 6th gear, better ride, and...

    Trailer size for 2

I don’t tow two Spyders yet, but I do trailer my wife’s F3 and my Road Glide. Eventually I’ll have to switch to a Spyder. Please don’t by a trailer until you visit a dealer and actually load your Spyders onto a few to see exactly how they fit. Any reputable dealer will allow you to do this...

Retiring soon, vehicle / trailer recommendations.

I do a lot of towing with my wife's Spyder F3 and my Harley Road Glide, and I’ve done a lot of towing with various types of trailers over the years. No disrespect to any other posters, but there’s simply no way I’d tow a trailer and a Spyder with a RAV4 or like vehicle, especially not an...

    Odd Swap Request

Because I apparently wasn't paying attention when I made the comment. You can't powder coat plastic; it would melt. I have Plasti-Dipped plastic before and it works quite well.

    Odd Swap Request

I have Plasti-Dipped chrome before with good results. Just find a clean bug free place to do it and apply it in four or five coats. The stuff is pretty tough. Alternatively I don't think it would cost more than $50-60 to have them powder coated and you'll have your choice of finishes.

Have you seen anything like this?

Despite what the tech said, there was some issue that caused the filter to collapse. I believe Spyder engines, like most other engines, incorporate a bypass valve that directs oil past the filter at a certain pressure (like cold starts) or if a restriction occurs. Did the bypass operate as...

    Is an F3 for me?

With the properly sized windshield the F3 is no more turbulent than a Street Glide with a proper windshield.

    Is an F3 for me?

I forgot to mention that the F3-S is 115 horsepower right out of the box and it's roughly the same weight as a Street Glide. That means it pretty fast.

    Is an F3 for me?

I have a Road Glide and the wife rides an F3-S after riding an ST for a year. Coming off a Street Glide I doubt you will happy with the riding position of the ST because it's more of a lean forward type position. Also, the ST is a five speed. When I rode my wife's ST I found myself searching for...
