• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

We're experiencing Unusual Southern Weather... with pics!

What you say is true, Peter ,but it all boils down to whose agenda they are going to design to? It is always to that of whoever signs the paycheck.

They have a different agenda than the mechanics who do the repairs. They do not look at the agendas of anyone else.

Can anyone identify this? Found on top of Piston #1 on a 2015 RT 1330

Thanks Les for your complete write up of your procedures. These will be very helpful to anyone having the same troubles. Looking forward to more in February.

USER NAMES/HANDLES - What does yours mean? Where did it come from?

Only 80 posts since #399 which was the last time I posted in this thread, but that was in 2020? Nothing has changed, so here is my original post: I went back and read some of the first posts from 2009. Most of those members are no longer on the forum, some are passed away, others just gone...

    Anyone tried a/mkt Heated pads for a 2011 RT-S?

Remember, your RT has the V-Twin engine which produces limited electricity from its mag dynamo, so it is very easy to use more electricity than the system can produce. This will cause your battery to discharge as you ride and could leave you stranded. It does not have an alternator.

Interesting conversation at the gas pump - asked why I chose to ride a Spyder rather than 'a real motorcycle'?!

I just ask "Where's yours?" They usually don't have one of any kind.

How do I replace a 2012 RT right turn lamp?

Thanks Doug, you always have the right information.

Is It OK to Make 500 km On the First Day With a Brand-New 2023 Can-Am RT Limited?

Hi John (@esky). That was a great recap of your adventures up until Winter. How wonderful that you found a great dealer to work with. Keep us up to date on how those rides next year go.

In search of an Ultimate Trailer OHT3 designed for hauling Spyders - any input?

I have the same type enclosed trailer as Albec. It works great for the Spyder and many other uses as well, and was a lot cheaper!

Yes it’s the age old tire question… What's currently the best replacement?

Adventurer, my condolences on the passing of your son. Only time and our Savior can heal the empty spot he used to fill. It does get better.

Is It OK to Make 500 km On the First Day With a Brand-New 2023 Can-Am RT Limited?

John, We haven't seen you since last Sept, so you may never see this. I hope all is well with you and your Spyder. Thank you for giving us the end of your ride home. How did your further solo long distance go?

After some True Can-Am insight - will I be making a huge mistake buying the RTL or F3?

I have a 2012 with 81,000+ miles on it. I have been in every State West of the Mississippi. The only reason I would say to get a newer one is that many dealers won't work on the older ones and there are not enough independent shops that will work on a Spyder. Go try both models and see which you...

Interesting conversation at the gas pump - asked why I chose to ride a Spyder rather than 'a real motorcycle'?!

I have never had anyone disparage my Spyder, including a large group of Harley riders at a gas stop at Sturgis. They asked why I didn't go with a Tri Glide - I told them I thought the Spyder was more comfortable. The ones who had ridden a Tri Glide just smiled and nodded in agreement. Most...

I needed, and found, the correct screws for the Rear ABS ring.

I would not worry about getting the 3m 2353y as it's manufacture has been discontinued by 3M due to 2 of it's component suppliers no longer making those components. This is as of Aug 23,2023. https://nylok.com/news/important-notice-regarding-3m-product-availability/

It pays to buy quality gear

I also have a First Gear (Made by Hein Gericke in Europe) leather jacket. I have worn it steadily since 1993 and it still looks good. I treat it regularly with a leather conditioner/cleaner. It also has a shrinkage problem which I remedied by having an expander made for the front zipper. In...
