• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Welcome, JohnRtl

Congrats on the new ride. And welcome to the forum. Your previous three wheel experience will help a lot, if nothing else because you are already mentally prepared for it to be different than two wheels.

Looking for a good GPS - Touring, no off road. Considering Garmin Zumo XT - thoughts?

@JohnRtl - thanks for the info! I just joined the UK Zumo Forum. Good to hear positive mentions of MRA since I'm hoping to transition to it as my sole route planning tool rather than using Basecamp for the Garmin and MRA for Apple CarPlay. If you've got one of the 2020 or newer RTLs, the...

    FedEx is the worst!!!

Yeah, I cringe when I see a shipment is coming via FedEx. I'm used to the repeating cycle of out for delivery then delayed going on for a few days. And then what typically happens is it either gets delivered on a day where there was no out for delivery message, or it gets delivered and then I...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Swapped out my old Garmin Zumo 396 mount for the new XT2 mount. The XT2 screen looks so much better, as it should, since it is bigger and much newer. Now comes the learning curve and testing to see how well it plays with plans made in MyRouteApp. I also (finally) checked the air filter after an...

Thanks for sharing. Hoping to get to that area next September so ride reports like this are very helpful.

Looking for a good GPS - Touring, no off road. Considering Garmin Zumo XT - thoughts?

A number of places, Cycle Gear and Amazon to name two that I've seen, are running early black Friday deals on the Garmin XT2 for $450. I don't know if it can get much better than that. Normal price is $600. A couple of times a year, the sale price is usually $500. Surprisingly, the XT is still...

Need some clarification on using Bluetooth Speakers & Headset for Phone Calls on my 2024+ RT

I didn't see this question answered, but if anyone is wondering...The Ride Settings button (lower right button on the left handlebar controls - see page 31 in the manual) allows you to switch between helmet and speakers while in motion. I've had to use it on a long day when my Sena dies...

I HATE Vapor recovery (ECO) gasoline pump nozzles! Is this just "my issue" only? Anyone else? What do you do to avoid this?

I have never had any spillage with the McCuff (maybe once when the pump failed to stop!). Yes, there can be some gas on it when I'm done, but usually very little. When purchased new, a McCuff comes with a case. Mine wore out a while ago so now it just goes in a Ziploc bag which goes in the...

I HATE Vapor recovery (ECO) gasoline pump nozzles! Is this just "my issue" only? Anyone else? What do you do to avoid this?

I'll go against the grain here, I actually like the booted nozzles. I've had to deal with them since I started riding in 2006. Fortunately a friend recommended the McCuff, a yellow "donut" that fits between the boot and the tank. It always gives me a fill to the bottom of the filler tube - I...

Display slow to change from night to day - is this common? Where is the sensor that triggers the change?

Had a bit of time so I did go out and experiment to locate the sensor. Discovered that it takes 30-40 seconds to respond to any changes, at least when the Spyder is sitting just inside my garage (that is, not in direct sunlight but with enough to trigger changes). The sensor on my 2024 RT-L is...

CarPlay Froze, then entire Head Unit Froze Up While Riding, then supposedly updated and rebooted on the Highway - Anyone else had this happen?

Wouldn't be nice if we really could choose to be beta testers and have the ACP crashes sent back so they actually had data to work with?

Display slow to change from night to day - is this common? Where is the sensor that triggers the change?

On my 2024 RT-L, the sensor appears to be somewhere that can be affected by opening/closing the glove box. Depending, of course, on where the sun is and whether the open door blocks the sun to the display. So I'm guessing the sensor is near the center lower part of the display. Would probably be...
