• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Does anyone know who.......

Toyo Proxes4 I live in the NW WA and get lots of rain. The Toyo Proxes4 has proven to be a good tire on both wet and dry pavement. When it's time to re-tire I'll buy another one.

    Rain and Tires

consider the psi at ground contact A wide tire spreads the weight over a larger contact area reducing the psi to the pavement - less traction. As with driving in snow - a narrow tire gains more traction. Driving off road in the mud - use a wide tire.

Where did you get your "Handle"?

pathfinderjoe Before the advent of the hand held GPS I bow hunted with a buddy whom had a terrible sense of direction and I'd tell him he probably couldn't find true north even with the aid of a compass. Normally all we had was a compass and a Forest Service map and by the end of the day he...

    Oil Change what I found!

I have 2 of these jacks. http://deals.ebay.com/blog/1100-lb-motorcycle-scissor-jack-for-57-off . I use 1 in the front between the front tires and 1 in front of the rear tire. I welded an extension to the one in front of the rear tire so I could use 2 of the Y brackets to lift using the OEM foot...

got rear ended or "MY LUCKY DAY"

Got rear-ended yesterday afternoon. I was riding down a 2 lane highway trying to catch the next ferry over to the Seattle side of the Puget Sound. It's raining hard and traffic is moving fast so I've backed way off the Ford 150 in front of me. HOlY ##**!! He decided to drop anchor and make an...

cost of doing business If you think the price is to high just think about the costs for liability insurance. When you are in business you know you will be sued sooner than later. Part of the costs of products is attributed to cover current and future legal fees. I have had an ISCI hand brake...

    Riding Techniques

use your clutch - for clarity - dropping off RPMs Rolling off the throttle - engaging the clutch - dropping off RPMs - dis-engage the clutch - rolling back on the throttle is a safe and effective way to slow down going into a curve. Some times safer than braking depending on road conditions and...

    Riding Techniques

the beauty of a clutch One of the reasons I like my M5 is that you can engage the clutch - drop off RPM - loose speed - before or during a turn - let out the clutch - never touch the brake - and away you go!!!

Have Spyders improved much in last 3 years?

2008 - no problems 29k on my 2008 GS(R) M5 and still no major problems. Never have had spark plug issues. This site is full of posts about spyders with problems. I'm guessing that there are a lot of owners who don't have anything to report.:thumbup:

no evap can Got my replacement gas cap last week. I removed my evap can years ago because of the reports of fires and gas odors reported by owners of 08 and 09 spyders.

    Need for Speed

if you need speed you need good suspension Ditto on the K N air filter. The suspension on the newer RS may be adequate but I had to spend $$ on my 08's suspension to get the most out the spyder. Went with the Elka shocks, over sized tires and Evolution sway bar.

love my Corbin Have a 08 GS M5. One of the first things I did was install Corbin seats. In the beginning I was always sliding forward. This was a result of my riding style which is straight up. I called the factory and they reshaped them at no cost. Love them now with 28K +. So-- make sure you...
