• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Kenda Tire: Important Recall Information

I ran my original Kenda rear tire to 14K.... just replaced it 2 months ago. Both fronts still look good enough to get 2 more riding seasons out of them. I must ride like an elderly pensioner (Oh yeah, that's right, I am).

Some day you're going to want to strap an extra bag behind you back there, and you're going to say, "GAAH!":gaah:

Stupid!! To have to remove 4 Panels and 2 plugs just to change the oil & filters!

You're right of course....and overall it's been a great machine with just minor issues that I've been able to handle myself for the most part. I just needed a rant this morning.:)

Stupid!! To have to remove 4 Panels and 2 plugs just to change the oil & filters!

....and don't forget...placing those two drains just ONE INCH further apart than my catch pan's diameter, so I can't drain both with the same pan at the same time.:banghead: ....and the two filter covers that could, BUT DON'T use the same length screws, so that if you inadvertently get them...

Attaching a walking cane to a Spyder RT

I have floorboards, so my crutches get attached to those at the bottom and to the passenger grab rails at the top.... both ends using double-sided velcro straps. <------- Just like in the pic

parking brake pulley not lined up

I think y'all are correct, but I don't have a lot of experience with brake assemblies. The stealership replaced the pads once before and after that financial raping I decided to learn how to do it myself from now on. Many thanks to arntufun for the video. Half amazed myself when they actually...

parking brake pulley not lined up

Yep, now that it's all back together with the new pads the pulley lines up with the bracket.:D

parking brake pulley not lined up

The pads were pretty near gone. When I pulled the pulley off to get to the mounting bolts for the brake assembly, I turned the spline shaft all the way CCW (several complete revs) and it looks like it might line up now when I put it all back together. That assumes that with new pads in place I...

parking brake pulley not lined up

It's a 2012 SE5. I'm getting ready to change rear brake pads for the first time. While I'm at it, is there a way to correct this situation, where my parking brake pulley isn't lining up with the cable bracket?

Parking brake issue - 2012 RS

That is what I did. Seems to be working OK for now, but the rear of the pulley is rubbing on it's spring at the spring retainer point. Maybe that is why the pulley was returning so slowly. That can't be right. I'm suspecting that the spline shaft and pulley have traveled inboard that far...

Parking brake issue - 2012 RS

Nope. That won't come out unless I remove the brake cylinder itself. Rotating CCW it comes out about a half inch then stops. Being retained by something outboard of the cylinder. Sounds expensive to me. Rear caliper : $506.99 ETA: found it for $380 elsewhere. Still......:gaah:

Parking brake issue - 2012 RS

Yeah..... I've had one since day one..... and the parts diagram doesn't single this part out for some reason. Never shows it as being removed from the caliper assembly. Curious....:sour: Same picture. I'll get back to you after I've taken it apart and (knock, knock) re-assembled it.

Parking brake issue - 2012 RS

You're right, of course. Tomorrow first thing I'll do it. I'm probably over thinking it anyway. There's no reason for anything small to be in there if it works the way I think it does.
