• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How much tupperware needs removal to Wire my GPS directly to the Battery?

I know this doesn't directly answer you question about the tupperware, but if you plan to add electrical to the Spyder, consider a power distribution box. I added one to our 2018 RTL to add electrical capability and bypass the nanny. I don't know what kind of space you have on yur ride, but I...

Anyone have a toy hauler for a Spyder RT?

We have a Winnebago 28KS. It is a towable, about 35", the rear of the living area is the garage when hauling. When camped we have a canopy with sides as a garage for the trike or I use the cover we got from Lamonster Garage. The only problem is that the trailer is tall, and I had to set up a...

Adding a fuel door to my 2015 Spyder RT seat? Any advice?

I looked up "RT fuel door" on the search function there in the upper right corner. Lots of threads on the fuel doors came up. Here is the link to the search result: https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/search.php?searchid=3021934 On edit: Oops. The former link was from a earlier search I...

    Vanity Plates

For some reason, our cars never have, but all our bikes get names. Didn't want to go to the expense of a vanity plate every few years, so got on the interwebz and got a vanity license plate frame. Much cheaper that a plate and never expires.

What Power Outlets have you put in the Frunk of F3s? Pics?

Here is a thread I posted about the fuseblock I set up in our RTL. https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?116532-Fused-electrical-distribution-block I have had this set up on 2 Goldwings, 2 VW based trikes, 3 Harleys, and our current rides, a Triumph Bonneville and the Spyder...

Would this work for towing a 2018 RT Limited?

We needed a trailer for the bike or the trike, so we went looking for one that would just be big enough. Looked around at many trailers, was about to buy one, but in the discussion we had a epiphany of sorts. We need to trailer the rides a few times a year, but other than that would we use it...

Any Winter or perm Texan Spyder/Ryker riders in the RGV area?

Not exactly a sighting, but related - We winter in the Rio Grande Valley. Last year I only saw 7 Spyders while there from December to March. So are there any other Winter or permanent Texan Spyder/Ryker riders in the area? Any organized or even disorganized meetups in the RGV?

Odd - no threads on cruising playlists - until now!

I have 5600 songs on a memory card in my phone which I usually have on random play to my Sena bluetooth headset. I can also stream Sirrius XM, where I have 8 or 10 go-to channels. Mostly along the lines of Tom Petty's Buried Treasure, Underground Garage, Deep Tracks, Faction Punk, Outlaw Country...

    any trikes with Auto tranny?

The wording in red pretty much disqualifies most all road-legal trikes, except some small displacement trikes and a few scooter conversions.

Routing heated-gear wiring: I is nervous about that Tupperware

I did a fuse block install in the frunk. I used 2 of the 6 connections to run single #14 primary wire along the left side under the tupperware to a pair of heated gear coax connections. I found a handy bolt on the frame for a ground so I wouldn't have to run a wire all the way back to the...

    Snow Spyder?

Never took a bike out after it snowed until the snow went away in the spring and it rained a few times to clean off the road when I lived in Minnesota. The chemicals on the road to melt the snow play havoc on the metal bits, and even chrome on plastic. BTW - when I read -Snow Spyder- I too...

    Interesting video on helmet safety.

Here is the latest from F9 on the Can Am history. It is from a year ago, and focuses on the Ryker, but it is an interesting watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2Mu0jcPIUY Another video about the Spyder F3-S from Fort9 from 2016, First Ride and Impressions -...

    Interesting video on helmet safety.

The video is by a outfit in Canada called Fort Nine, a motorcycle gear outfitter. I have been watching the video's for for a couple of years, and have found them to be interesting, well researched, sometimes tongue-in-cheek, often self-deprecating, and informative. If you watch their videos you...

    Really liking BOSE Sports Earbuds!

Does the noise cancelling feature of the earbuds reduce situational awareness? I have helmet speakers, but don't turn them up enough to completely block out the sounds around me. Hearing is one of the tools I was taught to use to keep tabs on what threats are in the area.

    Traffic lights and Spidey Senses

In my area, known as the "4 States", Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas all have "Dead Red" laws that allow motorcycles to proceed at t red light if there is no opposing traffic and the light stays red for an unreasonable amount of time, usually what would be 2 cycles of red-yellow-green...
