• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Coolant Hoses Not Available

I can't speak to why BRP is making basic parts unavailable. Unwilling to participate in keeping older models on the road? Maybe... They do seem to focus on new stock. Lots of aftermarket coolant tanks available that can be fit for the Spyder quite easily. Also have a few different options on...

2008 Spyder GS (RS) | Fire Damage

If it comes back to life and needs it's title that won't matter. I am in contact with the PO, DMV etc. The title will be transferred as non-salvage. There was never a payout on this machine and it has not been totaled. (Clean title) Welcome! Thank you for looking and for your comment! This...

2008 Spyder GS (RS) | Fire Damage

Last reported mileage from title report... 23,651 So the engine has ~25k miles on it. That checks out. The valves and cylinder being resurfaced with new rings will put the top end back to like-new again. I am wondering what mileage to set on the new dash. It will show zero but am considering...

    What's up with SL?

The forum uses SSL encryption. Part of the SSL standard is certificate verification. The cert expired yesterday. Nothing to be concerned with unless the site has been hijacked which is very unlikely. The site's administrators have likely forgotten to renew the certificate. Simple, quick and...

Anyone changed a Clutch Handle - is it specially made or universal?

Here is my process if I don't know what handle someone wants. You want the new handle to be closer I'm assuming but same process either way. Take a piece of carboard and top-down trace the pattern of handlebar and clutch handle. That will give you the "profile" and angle of your handle. Then...

Guess someone named Kevin Bliss needed to make a point? Yes, you can flip a Spyder

To my eye this looks like it was done on purpose. The person doing this is too experienced to have done this by mistake. (or just got really lucky) Watch the part of the video where he steps off the bike as it flips. That's not something you would normally do without some experience. This...

    Sad day.

It's really hard to say what is the best direction (replace/repair) but a frame bend of any kind usually makes the bike unsafe. KX really was bang on when he said you have to cut out the fold and weld in straight metal if you are going to repair. Prudent? I don't know but possible? 100% As...

    Dryer venting issues

Peter hit the nail on the head earlier IMO. The product you are looking for is called a "backdraft damper" (4in) Install anywhere after one of the units but before the Y Simple and nothing to go wrong aside from needing a bit of extra lint cleaning. Edit: Behind the dryer for easy cleaning...

    Sad day.

If the insurance company pays out on the bike it gets totaled and therefor will need a salvage title. Usually doesn't matter who takes possession of the bike but who pays for it.

    Sad day.

Perfect negotiating position when it comes to insurance. You are correct. You need REPLACEMENT cost and that is higher than the KBB or NADA value.

Your warranty is that if the work goes sideways you haven't lost a dime... you can resell to the next person for cost if you don't end up back on it! I'm excited for you! lol My attitude would be "just a matter of how works best but that thing is going back on the road".

    Sad day.

I am sorry to see but man... that thing is in perfect shape. It will live again. If you part that out or sell to someone who is going to that will be such a shame. I'll tell you this... if that was mine... I would fix the frame. The damage is not bad enough to need a new one IMO These...

    Sad day.

THEY ARE NOT EVEN REPLACING THE FRAME???!!!?? This has to be a typo... frame painting and frame support... that's the price to fix it.... not to do a frame swap.... Robbery! Under no circumstances should you consider that an option. PM me for more info... Edit: Frame Painted looks to be a...

    Sad day.

100% As MONK as others have said... you have to fight this. They're always going to try and get you as it's part of their job description. A drop is very similar to a collision. Likely to be more minor all things considered. Are you sure the frame is even available first? The dealer will be...
