• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2021 F3-S, VSS Fault at Startup

Ah, thanks gentlemen. I haven't ridden in about two months. Let me hook-up a battery tender and top off the battery. @BLUEKNIGHT911 >> Two oil drain plugs it is! I'll remember that next time.

2021 F3-S, VSS Fault at Startup

Hey all, Haven't posted here much lately. I've got mere 1300 miles on my 2021 F3-S. Recently did the oil change (drained from the wrong hole (again!). I finally ended-up making a note in the maintenance schedule which of the bolts is the actual oil drain. F3 oil filter is pure robbery for...

ECU flash - does a Stage 2 cost more than Stage 1?

So thus far my performance mods are as follows: Handling Improvements: - Bajaron sway bar - VREDESTEIN QUATRAC 5 SL - 165/60R-15 These significantly improve cornering and highway stability. As for performance upgrades: - K&N air filter - Lamonster cat bypass pipe (I'm using mine without the...

ECU flash - does a Stage 2 cost more than Stage 1?

Well, I'm joining the club. I shipped my ECU via overnight delivery for a Stage 2 reflash yesterday to Monster Fuel. Hope to have it back by Memorial Day. Last week I added Lamonster cat bypass pipe and Akrapovic. What serious weight savings. The Akrapovic is considerably larger than the...

    Tires again

Thank you. I suspected as much. I almost bought them in 175/55 size only to realize that size is only rated T (118mph). Went back and bought the 165/60 which were H rated. In fact it’s the only tire that size that tire rack carries that’s rated H. Everything else is T. Looking forward to...

    Tires again

Genuinely curious, after reading all the posts here, what size do you get the Vredestein Quatrac 5 in? I cannot find this tires in the OEM size (165/55 R15).

Absolutely Amazing after Installing BajaRon sway bar!

Swapped out the bolts yesterday. I was waiting to lift the spyder to do it. I installed the LaMonster exhaust pipe that got rid of the bulky 20+ pound resonator/catalytic converter, and swapped out the OEM exhaust with Akrapovic. As others have said, there's no substitute for the V-twin...

Absolutely Amazing after Installing BajaRon sway bar!

Hmm, strange. The install guide clearly specified the included bolts should be used at the top. Wish I had a copy of the install guide but I tossed it. I torqued them all quite well.

Absolutely Amazing after Installing BajaRon sway bar!

Just finished installing mine today. Abrupt manuvers and taking curves at higher speeds definitely feels more stable. Here are my photos of the install. Getting those plastic blocks sure was a pain in the butt though!

Blue Ridge Windshield on the F3 = Crazy backdraft

So, I felt compelled to reply to my own thread as a follow-up. The 7Jurock windshield arrived last week. I had opted for the tallest (27") version to help alleviate the unbearable turbulence encountered with the OEM Blue Ridge winsdhield. The price for the 7Jurock is definitely fair. $200...

    Hit a deer today

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. In retrospect, the best way (I think) to deal with a head-on collision with an animal is to maintain vehicle control, and duck your head down low. Damage to the Spyder is inconsequential compared to an animal flying over the hood and whipping your head...

    Hit a deer today

So I'm riding to the airport, as I do every day. Doing 50 in a 40 on a straight country road, when out of nowhere, this 150lb (or so) missile comes at me from 9 o'clock. In all my years of driving (and riding), this is my first deer hit. I managed to stay in control after the impact, and...

Blue Ridge Windshield on the F3 = Crazy backdraft

Well, a quick update. I ended-up purchasing the 27" windshield (largest they have) from 7Jurock. $200 shipped, with 15% tint. It's a solid increase vs. the 21.5" Blue Ridge windshield. Hopefully this remedies the mind-numbing turbulence my head experiences at highway speeds. I've also...

Blue Ridge Windshield on the F3 = Crazy backdraft

Oh, you're preaching to the choir. I spent more on my old Harley than the thing was worth. I came to think to myself one day, do I spend more time working on this bike? Or do I spend more time actually riding it? In the end, it didn't really matter which was true. I just enjoyed it all...

Blue Ridge Windshield on the F3 = Crazy backdraft

Uh-ah. Don't want that happening. I sometimes hit 105mph when passing cars. Last thing I need to worry about is a clamp-on piece of windscreen going loose and hitting me in the face at that speed. Thanks for the useful tip.
