• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Latest BRP Safety Bulletins for Shaft Replacement (2019-12) and Shaft & Sprocket Replacement (2019-13) Recalls - Jan 2025

I picked mine up Wednesday; they had it about a week and a half, took them 13 hours labour (told me I was the second they did, first one took 23 hours) so they are pretty pissed at BRP for shorting them so much on their actual costs. Interesting that they changed transmission fluid and coolant...

What do you think your Spyder looks like?

My 2018 RTL is named "The Goblin" because of the bug-eye fog lights so... yeah!

Who would have thought that Grip Puppies could make such a difference!

I have them on my 2018RTL and am amazed at how much more comfortable they make the grips over long distance

    Riding Gear Poll

ATGATT. Having gone down once on my old Yamaha 1300 just a few blocks from my home, and seeing the mess my leather jacket and helmet were while still fracturing 4 ribs and a shoulder and a headache that lasted 6 months....I do not find it an inconvenience at all to up my odds in getting home in...

Tried to Winterize, but the weather's too good, so Still Riding!

Here in Southwestern Ontario, I also do not fully winterize my Goblin.... Stabilizer in the gas, battery maintainer year round. Had a beautiful ride in +13C weather on Christmas Day. We have had zero snow so far so no salt on the roads. Anytime the roads are clear of ice or snow, I'm tempted!

To Choose a Blind Spot Mirror or a Blind Spot Detector - or Both?

I have done the same thing, but I added my BSM's to the bottom inside corner of each regular mirror and then angled them wide.... I find this gives me great ability to scan both near and far at a glance, although I am still able to turn my head for passing etc. I try to scan behind me every 10...

Recommend any luggage racks for pre 2020 RT's? What covers still fit?

Have the old style angled one on my 18 RTL... never had any issue with my half cover fitting when I travel, or my full cover when in winter sleep in the garage.

A question - does your pillion feel crowded by the riders backrest?

My Mrs is 5-0 and 128 so, no problem with the backrest crowding her.

    Fed up with Can-Am service!

I have had a much different experience with the dealer I go to, who did my initial inspection on the sprocket on my 2018 RTL last fall (it was fine) while I waited about an hour, ordered my replacement and when I called this spring had it waiting for me, installed it and an oil change along with...

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

My 2018 in the weird gray/green colour that BRP insists is "Asphalt Grey", with the bug-eyed fog lights... is "The Goblin"

    Spyder is out of Hibernation

LOL The dealer asked me how I knew the weather would be so nice for my ride in, given I made the appointment in February.....

What bike did you ride to get your motorcycle license ??

Here in Ontario, Canada, we have a graduated licence system for both cars and motorcycles. A written rule of the road test gets you an M1... you have 90 days to practice (only daylight, no freeways) before taking your first road test which gets you an M2 if you pass. You have up to 5 years to...

Was there a front sprocket recall in Canada that includes the 2017 RTL?

Had my 2018 RTL inspected in October... mimimal wear. The new sprockets weren't in stock yet. Booked to have it done April 14th when I have spring service done.

Anyone else a loner and not a group rider?

My wife is an "hour there and back" passenger so... I do a couple big trips a year with an eclectic group of guys on Spyders, a Victory, Goldwing, Concours, Triumph Speed Triple and assorted adventure bikes ... we have gone all over North America.. headed to New Orleans from Southern Ontario in...
