• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trailer tie down system, strap over tire - any opinions on this system?

I ended up doing this. Did not budge an inch over 800 miles.

Trailer tie down system, strap over tire - any opinions on this system?

Good to know Mike. I should be more than good with three straps, then.

Will RonBar help with Drifting on Secondary Roads with Crowns?

:agree: I went through the same thing. We ride a lot of roads like the ones you describe and some of the dips are awful. The top of the bike would lean uncomfortably, especially if those dips are encountered in a curve. I noticed a big difference with the Ultimate BajaRon bar. The bar noticeably...

Trailer tie down system, strap over tire - any opinions on this system?

Thanks for the assurances, everyone. I’ll try installing the full set and see how well it works. If the rear chocks are too much to reverse over I will swap them with plain e-track. It should be an easy change out.

Thanks, that is great information. I like to keep experimentation to a minimum. :)

Trailer tie down system, strap over tire - any opinions on this system?

That was one of my concerns as well. I don’t think there will be any problem with the bump going over them, but traction may be a problem when backing out. I’ll probably put some stair tread friction material where the rear tire will rest. If this doesn’t work, I’ll just use the front chock and...

Trailer tie down system, strap over tire - any opinions on this system?

I'm picking up a 6x12 utility trailer this weekend and would like some opinions on this tie-down system: https://www.etrailer.com/ATV-UTV-Tie-Downs/Erickson/EM09160.html It looks pretty quick and easy, just wondering if anyone's had experience with it. I'm concerned the straps may slip...

Will the 1330 engine adjust based on gas octane changes?

Agreed. If it'll run fine on 87 E10, running higher octane is money down the drain. I've got other things to spend my money on, like farkles. I've been using nothing but premium in mine for a year. I reckon it cost me $252 extra to do so.

Will Charging the Camper's Battery off my Spyder overload the Alternator

Whew, all this is too complicated for me! No disrespect to all the fine suggestions, but I like to keep it simple. If all I was doing was charging electronics after a day's ride, I'd just carry a suitably-sized jump pack as suggested by @BajaRon. It can charge in the trunk as you're riding...

What bike did you ride to get your motorcycle license ??

1979 on a barely-running CB250. In Georgia, all I had to do was pass the written test and do a figure 8. Easy-peasy. When I got married I foolishly let my license lapse. I tested again (Indiana) in 1984 on a 1974 Gold Wing, again in rough shape. It was the full riding test, and it was tough. I...

2020+ SEAT Strut issues - a different solution!

The ID of the spring is exactly 7/8", but the "corners" of the eyelet exceed this. I ground the corners down a bit and was able to fit the spring, but it is again too small to fit over the gas cylinder. After seeing how it interferes with the seat mount, I will be seeking an alternative...

2020+ SEAT Strut issues - a different solution!

For those who have done the spring solution: Is there a trick to getting it to fit over the eyelet at the top of the shaft? I bought the exact spring, but the ID is too small to fit over the eyelet at the seat end. Also tried compressing the spring with zip ties, removing the eyelet, and...

A question - what's the best way to lubricate all the cables?

Shawn Smoak uses chain wax, at least on the bag releases. https://www.amazon.com/Maxima-74920-Chain-Wax-Aerosol/dp/B0012TZ1RU/ref=sr_1_1?crid=33K4AW2K0ECAD&keywords=chain+wax+motorcycle&qid=1690896355&sprefix=chain+wax%2Caps%2C115&sr=8-1
