• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Battery access on my Spyder - less than 30 seconds!

Whatever works best for you. The fender, case and Dzus mods were changes I wanted to make anyway, improved battery access was a happy by-product.

Battery access on my Spyder - less than 30 seconds!

Signal lights and top case moved aft, rear fender moved up, left side bag bracketry removed and reconfigured, all screws replaced with Dzus. Tools needed to replace panel: small screwdriver and Allan key. Time to remove panel, less than 30 seconds

QUESTION, how much do you hate digging out your battery on older models

I got rid of my side bags and just use the frunk and a large rear case. I replaced all screws with Dzus fasteners. Battery replacement is now quick and easy.

Purchasing a 2008 GS - Anything I should be aware of?

The parking brake adjustment is easy but needs to be done frequently. This is important on the semiauto model unless you want the spider to roll away from a parking spot. Get a shop manual if you can. I'm still running my trusty 2008 GS-SE5 that I bought new and after many mods it suits me...

    Read this

OK, I'm a Spyder rider. Does this make me a "Biker" or not? Don't know, don't care. Anyway, I'm in no hurry to join any club that Bozo columnist belongs to!

2012 rss se5 rolling while off in 1st gear??

With SE5 it is a good idea to be sure that your parking brake is properly adjusted. I always lock the handlebars too. That way, if somebody were to release the brake while it was parked, it would not roll too far.

    SORRY!!!!! YOU GET HIM

US gets Bieber, Toronto stuck with Ford, five BC boys on Team Canada, could life be any better, Gasman? ( Maybe 12 Spydering months instead of 11, eh?)

    ryding to work

Still ryding in BC, too. Life in the Pacific North West is OK if you can stand a little bit of rain.

    Battery changing idea

This tip may be of use to people who have luggage racks that block battery removal. In my case it was a modified 3 bag Industries 7 rack. Part of the tubing passed directly in front of the battery, too close to allow removal. Removing the rack is time consuming, but I found an easier way. It...

RS Problems to new owner- Any help appreciated!

Since you seem to have tried the obvious cures, I should relate my troubles ,which were similar. My 2008 GS-SE5, when fairly new, refused to start so I had it towed to the dealership. After trying the obvious things, they replaced the battery. No cure. Then they replaced the starter. Still no...

OYSTER RUN ADVENTURE - THE MOVIE

Hope everything is OK with yourself and your Spyder, Rick. Three of us waited at Alger till seven-fifteen, but then we had to go. Headed south on Old 99 hoping to meet you coming north. Sorry to have missed you but sometimes unforseen things pop up, I know.

OYSTER RUN ADVENTURE - THE MOVIE

In spite of the weather, it was good to see some old friends and meet many new ones. Seems Spydering is alive and well in the North West.

So what would make you trade up to a 2014?

I love my old 2008 GS-SE5 which I have modified till it suits me perfectly. I intend to run it until it wears down to the point that it is unreliable for long trips, then I will look at a RSS set up for sport riding, unless by that time I am so old that I require an RT. As to trucks, I will...

HERE IT IS! ROUTE TO OYSTER RUN

    Yup, see you there.

Help with posture on RSS please.

For me, at 5ft 8, I found the one inch riser and highway pegs works well, allowing sport riding and some touring. If I were doing more than 350 miles per day, I would want taller risers though, or an RT. The stock seat suits me well, but most people seem to opt for more comfort. Each individual...
