• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

NEED HELP! Mixing coolants question. Need EXPERT advice.

Yes, you're correct. I did ask them to check the fluid levels... since they're the ones who put the Engine Ice (propylene glycol) in for me on both of my Spyders. Yes, it is the case. The paperwork says the coolant was a qt low and they topped it off with green coolant (ethylene glycol)...

NEED HELP! Mixing coolants question. Need EXPERT advice.

I appreciate telling me which coolant you use Mike, but I'm not sure how that helps me with my ethylene and propylene mix situation. Thanks tho. :-)

    Oil Change in Valcourt

When still under warranty doesn't the scheduled maintenance need to be done by an authorized dealer/shop to fulfill the warranty records requirement? Just askin'.

NEED HELP! Mixing coolants question. Need EXPERT advice.

Well, no. Ethylene glycol is not the same as propylene glycol. I'm not talking about mixing the orange with the green, both propylene glycol. Engine Ice is an ethylene glycol product and is better at cooling, and keeps my engine about 10 degrees cooler. Important when ryding in 113 degree...

    WARRANTY

Check out Zurich. Most places accept it since they just pay with a credit card. A few, like my (what they describe themselves now as) "boutique" dealership do not. Stupid because they still get paid, but then they're the number one Can Am dealer in the Southeast so they sell only Can Am Spyders...

Aggressive riding in the curves question

There are a lot of adrenaline junkies out there. My experience is that each level gets old pretty quick, and more adrenaline is desired so more limits get pushed until the line finally gets crossed. I hope you ryde safe for your sake and the sake of those who share those same roads. Would hate...

NEED HELP! Mixing coolants question. Need EXPERT advice.

I use Engine Ice (propylene glycol) in my '15 RT LTD. While at the shop for other service I asked them to check the fluid levels. When I came to pick it up they told me the coolant was a half quart to a quart low and they topped it off with green coolant (ethylene glycol?). They should have...

    WARRANTY

Better to have and not need than to need and not have. I GUARANTEE my Irish "Murphy's Law" says if I didn't have it I'd have a failure and pay out the yingus for a repair. Having an extended warranty means I won't HAVE a failure and need a repair. That's how it works (in my life). I got my 3...

    RT 1330 MPG ??

I averaged about 36 MPG on my 2012 RT-S SE5 998 V-Twin (incl hwy), and now about the same on my 2015 RT LTD SE6 1330 3 in-line ACE. Never understood how anyone could get 46 MPG. Ever. Used to use 93 octane (with ethanol), now use 90 octane ethanol free. As for ECO mode, all that does is give a...

    Well, I'm Selling My Spyder

Wow! Sorry to hear this. You are the exceptional exception. First time I've heard something like this in the 5 years I've owned Spyders and been a member here. Why don't you get them to take it back and give you a new one? Seems Lemon Law should apply. Your experience really is an exception...

    Installed new belt tensioner/vibration damper

I was one of those who had no real bad vibration on my 2015 RT like I did on my 2012 and thought maybe they did something about it at BRP. Well, even if they did I have to agree with those who said they didn't realize the difference it would make until they put it on. All I can say...

    Adjustable OE Back Rest kit

Really none, if you mean forward and back horizontally. Only tilt, which doesn't help me much since where it enters the seat still pushes me too far forward. My position on the seat is too far forward and my lumbar is off/forward of the seat lumbar support by about an inch+ or so, and my crotch...

    BRP'S B.E.S.T. & B.E.S.T PLUS Factory Warranty

It is 6 years+/- since you wrote this, and I just purchased my 3 year BEST warranty from Bert's for $750, and I've had my Spyder for 2 years.

    BRP belt tensioner

BRP part #219800412. There's an adapter available from Doc Humphries for the RT, and Doc (and others) now makes complete kits (aluminum, not plastic like BRPs) for F3s and RTs. I verified with BRP that it does NOT void the warranty. The non-BRP part is just not covered, of course. Even my...

    RT SmoothSpyder Belt Tensioner

Dealer is incorrect. BRP now sells one for the F3 (BRP part # 219800412), and there's an aftermarket adapter available for the RT. The other brands, including Doc Humphries complete RT kit, etc, do NOT void the warranty or even the drive warranty. A non-BRP part is not covered, naturally. Or if...
