• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Stripped oil drain hole! Any thoughts?

Stripped oil drain hole! Any thoughts?

Wow, thanks for all the replies! There is still some threads...it held and only leaked once the oil warmed up and thinned out a little. Maybe Teflon tape would be all it takes to stop leaking? I will look into that helicoil too, I've heard that suggested a lot. Got to see how big the hole...

Stripped oil drain hole! Any thoughts?

I can't believe it, I've never striped a plug hole before:opps: In preparation of the oil change, I looked up the torque values for the plug and am well aware of the soft nature of aluminum it was being threaded into. I did buy the Ryker slightly used so I'm blaming the previous owner...

Ryker Touring Storage and Luggage Options

True, I will repost my 2Up spring in the For Sale section if anyone's interested.:ohyea:

Ryker Touring Storage and Luggage Options

You are right about shock vs. spring however, when ordering from Elka you're not just getting a shock...you're also getting a spring matched to the weight you specify when ordering the shock.

Slingmods Reflectors with Sequential LED Turn Signals & Running Lights

I tried hooking them up as brake lights. I applied a constant 12v to test and they started flashing! Built in flashers! I suppose because they're LED, if they didn't have their own built in flashers, they'd cause a hyperflash?

Slingmods Reflectors with Sequential LED Turn Signals & Running Lights

Your observation is pretty accurate..."straightforward albeit tedious." Working on the fender while tethered to the bike was a pain...so I completely unplugged it and removed it, that helped some. Definitely need to protect the glossy black paint of the A-arms as it's almost impossible to...

    Which universal tankbag?

Depends on what your assumptions are about the magnetic tank bag...the magnetic part works great! The bag stays put. There are some loose fitting straps on it to prevent the bag from completely falling off, yet still allows it to move just far enough out of the way to open the fuel hatch...

    Baja Ron Performance Suspension Sticker

One sticker definitely made my Ryker faster...didn't stop to think what a second could do, LOL!

Have you guys seen these new headlights?

I think they look awesome, but my wallet needs a break! https://www.slingmods.com/canam-ryker-replacement-led-headlight-assembly-drl-turn-signals?vehicle=4

Just added passenger seat - need to adjust suspension??

Unless they've changed in the most recent model year (I have a 2019), the rear spring doesn't hold much in real world applications once you start adding passengers and cargo. I've read others who added cargo racks that are making contact with the rear fender when bottoming out. I added the...

excessive vibration in handlebars or is it me?

I'm going to try out a "throttle lock" to let me relax my right hand from time to time on long stretches of road.

Loud whining sound at idle after a fairly short run

my 2 cents....I have not had any whine yet with my Ryker (I haven't put a lot of miles on it yet), but reading this thread got me thinking of my car. It's a Suzuki Kizashi with a CVT that likes to whine. Us Kizashi owners discovered that doing a fluid exchange on the CVT greatly reduced it and...

Brake light flasher turn signal override

I agree with the OPs observation that the brake light flashers and the turn signals display a confusing flash pattern when used together. That's some creative work he's done there. I wanted some more light options as well, ultimately wanting more lights overall for night time visibility, so I...
