• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Considering Going From 2 to 3 Wheels

Totally with you on the wife making me nervous, but for different reasons. When she was in her 20s (last year if you ask her) she rode sport bikes. We both like the technical side of riding. She is entirely unafraid of hitting that 80 to 85 % of what the bike has to deliver in regard to...

Retired LEO here. Chicago PD. Good points on the other elements of your response and I agree 100% that riding requires learning, skills development, training, and then skills maintenance. The problem is that we run out of options in certain conditions and are left to suffer the consequences...

Considering Going From 2 to 3 Wheels

Well, it may be back on the table. The wife and I went out a couple of weeks ago on our bikes. Short 120 mile trip, Sunday morning trip, 0800, Estero to right around Lake Okeechobee. If you know Florida, that is a relaxed, low traffic back road trip. I am not the exaggerating type. In...

Considering Going From 2 to 3 Wheels

Please, feel free to let me know if you would like any information on the CTX. My wife rides the 2015 with DCT. We have owned three Honda DCT bikes. We were unsure if we would enjoy it. Well, tens of thousands of miles and I can tell you it is the best thing that ever happened to touring &...

Considering Going From 2 to 3 Wheels

Well, I think this is a dead deal right now. I think I mentioned that my wife rides also. She was down with the idea of getting rid of both bikes and going to the CanAm. We went on a ride through one of the state forests on two wheels. When we got back as soon as she took her helmet off...

That is hysterical! Those threads sure do get a lot of traction for some reason! My right hand to God, I'll never start an oil or a tire thread. Thanks for the input. Mike

Thank you. Yes they do. Though we are not a large market overall, it is a very popular destination for powersports. just tons of bikes, trikes, and ATVs sold here every month. We don't have many advanced courses here but the basic courses are widely available. I am still fit, healthy...

Very gracious! We live down in Estero, south end of Lee County Just north of Naples. Lakeland is not that far at all. It is just off a route that I ride from here up to Gainesville (I am presuming you're a Noles fan being from up there...Gators here). I am friends and former neighbor with...

Thanks everyone. Going for a test ride this weekend or next. I'll post after the ride. Safe travels to all! Mike.

I think I was leaning more toward the Cadillac XT5 (Which I own) than the Buick Roadmaster (which my parents owned) from the 80s! Kidding aside, that is all part of it. Unless it is a pure track or dirt bike, looks play into the equation.

Thank you. If I make the change, I'd be very interested in learning more about tires.

Glad to hear that and thank you for the welcome! What do you attribute the increased riding on the Can Am vs. a two wheel MC to? Is it that you enjoy it more than two wheels? Quick aside...what about rain? How is the protection on the CanAm?

DCT is incredible. Not sure if you heard, but they are upgrading it again for 2021. If I am understanding it correctly, they now have a rider programmed mode. So, the DCT will know not to go down or up a gear too early or too late based on your riding preferences when in that mode. Uncertain...

Suspension and conspicuity lights are the first things I upgrade on my bikes. I bet that will be the same for a CanAm. I'm kind of a prima donna when it comes to suspension and handling...part of my interest in the tech side of riding. Traxxion Dynamics and Hyperpro are what I am using right...

Considering Going From 2 to 3 Wheels

Oh absolutely. Agreed. I guess it did sound like I was suggesting MC riding and CanAm riding would be a one-for-one exchange. You know, the one thing I really find interesting is that the CanAm riders I've come across seem to be a better fit for me socially too, if that makes sense. Enjoy...
