• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Trailering

Trailer I appreciate the open trailer idea, this was my first choice for pulling my F3 behind my new Sprinter based Leisure Travel Van U24CB. However, I can purchase a 7' x 14' Tandem axle covered trailer with all the extras from Kaufman Trailer in Denton, North Carolina, for about $5000...

considering purchasing a GS. What issues / concerns should I be aware of?

Heat issues? With my 2008 as I remember, the heat was horrible, nearly cooking my feet. This with high quality riding boots about ten inches high. The solution, as best I can recall, was to fabricate a shield, I think it was out of Lexan, which dumped the heat to the outside, passing along...

    Beware of scam re Facebook

Scammed? Love this thread.... the reason we are so easily duped is the idea of getting something we do not deserve triggers our greed. And as we begin thinking about our new 45' boat, airplane, or multiple Spyders...all blown...we have what is called "defense mechanisms" which blind our...

    Updates for 2018...

Redesign? The F3 is of course a complete redesign from my earlier 2008 model, and I have learned the seat on an F3 is 26.6" whereas my previous model was 30.4". The nearly 4" reduction in seat height is IMO a huge improvement in the overall handling of the F3. Having said all this, I would...

    Updates for 2018...

Ground clearance? I guess I have not had an issue with this. As to belt drive....guessing this would add about $1500 to the prices....which are already fairly high IMO

    Updates for 2018...

The list Lots of great ideas here... and I think one of the best would be a hand operated brake on the throttle side. I have always "covered" the brake lever when on two wheels when anywhere near another vehicle, keeps the reaction time down. And racing, this is pretty much the way it is...

    ooooooh noooooo

Big SUV's Yup, when the contest is being waged, and some less than intelligent driver of a FWD monster, raised in the South, but claiming to be an expert driver in all conditions (with his twenty-five minutes of experience in snow) for sure, this is the reason to avoid the Spyder in snow or ice.

    ooooooh noooooo

Weather? Having done a couple cross country solos, and ridden a DL1000 Suzuki for three hours in 30° F on my way to Houston, I do not get overly concerned about weather. Looking forward to testing Spyder in snow....LOL This morning we saw 26° F while walking the dogs, easily accommodated with...

    Updates for 2018...

My wish list First, I have no intentions of purchasing another Can Am, at least not until I get 10,000 or more miles on the one I have. But, the original list.... Bluetooth - phone to stereo. Control of phone music from handlebar controls. (Easily handled by doing a Garmin 595LM, Sena 10S)...

    Manual Or Semi-Auto?

Semi auto While not being able to "chirp" the tire during an upshift, if one is a bit overzealous with throttle out of the hole, it will spin up fairly easily. Upshifts in general with the auto will be smooth, most of the time. But, I prefer to very quickly close the throttle slightly...

    Custom Exhaust on F3

After purchasing Lamont's bypass for the first muffler on my F3, I sought out a bit more sound, did not want to spend another $500 or more, and decided to configure my own system with the help of a welding shop. So, a "Cherry Bomb" muffler, straight through 2" diameter was purchased, the OEM...

    Manual Or Semi-Auto?

Cost of semi automatic In all the pricing I can see, the semi automatic is $1500 retail. With skillful negotiation this can be reduced more often than not. For younger folks, i.e., less than 70 years old, the manual would be the way to go. But, if one has some of the consequences of growing...

    2016 rts se6. Belt tensioner.

Installation of idler pulley on F3 Having just done this, here is how I did it following the instructions: ROADSTER KIT - F3 Idler Pulley_000131419_INS61Y016S88 available from www.instructions.brp.com. Remove side panel (left - drive side) by removing four screws, three pop fasteners. Remove...

    Manual Or Semi-Auto?

Is anyone here? Whatever, after about 2000 miles on my semi-auto F3 Ltd SS, I can say that this transmission is IMO by far superior to manual. The shifting is at the level of the PDK Porsche transmission and shifting is as quick as on a race bike, i.e., upshifting with virtually no clutch...
