• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Arizona bound-LAWS

Desert = sand + dust. If you have a dark color vehicle, you either wash it frequently, or get used to it. Summer monsoon season is the worst, especially around Phoenix. Large dust clouds get kicked up in front of rainstorms. If you are lucky, it rains heavy and washes most of the dust off...

2013 RTS Recall Complete - Initial Thoughts

They have been very cool about it. I called the service manager after noticing it. He asked me to email photos. Apparently the mechanic didn't realize he had scratched it (it isn't huge; the photo of the scratch is really zoomed in). He told me he was ordering a new panel and will replace it...

Video How To: How to control your iPod/iPhone

Excellent video...very helpful. Dumb question time: Is it safe to assume this is for a device hard wired in the trunk, and not bluetooth? Dumb question #2: With a Sena SMH10 playing music from in Iphone via bluetooth.....is there a way to control the music on the screen? I generally play...

new LED lights on my *over the Moon* Spyder

That is awesome. You just know some good 'ol boy is going to report a UFO sighting when he sees that bike while driving around at night after his first 6-pack. I can definitely see economies here, too. No need for a Christmas tree....just park the Spyder in the living room in December and...

2013 RTS Recall Complete - Initial Thoughts

Still haven't been on a long ride since the recall work....pretty toasty in Arizona to ride other than early morning right now! The good news is that the dealer thus far sounds like they are taking full responsibility for the scratch made during the air scoop installation. The service manager...

2013 RTS Recall Complete - Initial Thoughts

I just had the recall work on my 2013 RTS completed at RideNow Powersports in Tucson yesterday. Mine is the 2nd recall they have completed so far. It sounds like the first one may have taken 8 hours or so, and mine around 6-7. It was an 8 mile ride home in 6:00 traffic; lots of stop and go...

Spyder Sightings May 23 Mt Lemmon

I am a relatively new transplant to Tucson and took my first trip up to Mt Lemmon on Saturday, May 23 in the early afternoon. I saw several Spyders on the way up and the way down. Nice to see so many out there! It was a beautiful day. Curious of the Spyders that I saw, how many are members...

GOT THE PHONE CALL FROM BRP AT 11:30 AM TODAY

Just spoke to RideNow Powersports in Tucson to order recall parts and schedule the work. They expect to have parts next week. Good thing, as it appears we will be hitting triple digits this weekend! It appears that they are replacing the charcoal canister as part of this service, is that...

Any tips for taming the 'Dragon'?

Finless, as one who spent most of his life in CA, AND has driven the Dragon on multiple occasions, a couple of thoughts: 1) You are absolutely correct, that the the mountains out west are bigger and craggier than in the east, and there are many fun mountain roads in CA 2) There are many fun...

Any tips for taming the 'Dragon'?

Love the Dragon! I have driven the Dragon many times in my old Honda S2000.....that is 4 wide tires on a low-profile extremely well weight-balanced vehicle, so my experience will be different than on a Spyder. Narrow twisty road with a single yellow line and little to no shoulder = no room for...

    Daily Commuter

I bought my Spyder with the primary purpose of commuting to work. I have a daily 30 mile trip each way and wanted to be able to use the HOV lane. I went with the Spyder primarily due to its size and visibility. 80% of the trip is on the freeways. The Spyder has worked very well for this...

Tail of the dragon - where to stay

If you want to be in a town with motels and restaurants, Maryville, TN is relatively close Knoxville isn't much further. High speed run down Foothills Parkway places you right at the west end of the Dragon. Another option is camping in the Smoky Mountain National Park that the Dragon runs...

    4600 mile service

Coming up on my first 4,600 mile service. Is the schedule calling for 4,600 on the odometer, or 5,200 (4,600 after the initial 600 service? I would presume the former, but thought I would make an inquiry of the experts!
