• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What's going on with this Super-hot exhaust???

No no, this is new and NOT normal. The engine now doesn't want to start even, it fires up then dies. So something has definitely gone amiss here I don't know what though. Maybe the injectors are stuck? But both at the same time... seems improbable. The heat issues you are referring to were on...

What's going on with this Super-hot exhaust???

Started my 2012 up to run a short errand down the street last week, felt a LOT of heat from my right side behind my leg. Engine seemed really weak and sounded strange... got back and parked it but left it running and looked up the tailpipes of the muffler and saw this! Great balls of fire! Any...

Anyone got a good source for a 2012 RS license plate lens housing?

Ok so appears mine decided to part-ways with my bike at some point today.... now all I have is the mount with the license bulb and a screw with a little bit of red plastic under the screw head. Gahhhhhh! Anybody know of a good source for this part used or something? I find the entire assembly...

    Sad day.

My 2000 GMC C-3500 SLE Dually pickup truck was totaled in a head-on wreck (not my fault, other driver coming my way made a sudden illegal left-hand turn not 20 feet in front of me with a pickup almost as large as my own!)... I bought my truck back from insurance for salvage even though the...

2014 RSS-SE5 Save me from myself-- check engine light

Have you put any treatment at all in the fuel tank? Seafoam, B12, anything? Give the tank a strong dose of your favorite fuel system cleaner and let it sit and run for awhile then go ride it around the block! With so few miles on it after 6 years mostly sitting the fuel likely turned to crap and...

998cc Spyder neglected abandoned , Found it and i am bring it back to life

Good Lord! How did this Spyder get so messed up? I would expect all this stuff if it had been pulled out of a river bottom somewhere but... how did this many things get messed up on this machine just sitting out in the weather? You sir have the patience of a Saint! Previous owner should have...

Noisy Hindle exhaust - any alternatives/suggestions?

This thread is worthless without pics of the 2008 GS in question.... :lecturef_smilie: LOL! Congrats on your new ride. May she serve you well. Am i mistaken or aren't the Hindle mufflers essentially the same as automotive "glass-packed" mufflers? I swear I've seen re-build kits on Ebay for...

Good to see another 2012 RS out there, and with a lot more miles on it than mine (~19,400). :-) - Michael

Replacing the shift switch on my SE5

How many miles are on your Spyder? Mine's nearing 19K. O2 sensor failed at just under 18K. Have had Check Tranny message come on before but seems to clear up quickly just by cleaning all the connector contacts between the paddle shifter harness and the electronic solenoids so I'm not convinced...

Replacing the shift switch on my SE5

Yes, I do actually.... it isn't going to make any difference as long as the solder joints are done properly Nanny will never know. But taking the wires out of the plug fishing them thru then putting them back in the plug might be easier if a bit less fun. :-\ At the end of the day, the OP...

Replacing the shift switch on my SE5

Why would soldering to the existing wires ruin the harness? The Can-bus shouldn't be able to tell the difference if the solder is any good at all. I solder rc airplane electronics and computer electronics all the time. On the other hand, it might make the new harness easier to fish thru if you...

2012 RS 17K miles Brake Failure message

Well, after having the Check Engine light and warning message on for that 14 mile ride that evening, it's not done it again. I've taken it on several trips of 40 miles or more without this happening again. So, weird! Thanks for the Good Mojo, I guess it worked! LOL! - Michael
