• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well, that didn't take long... First fault on my new 2023 RTL! Air Suspension Fault.

I use the following I bought off of Amazon: Battery Tender Plus 12V 1.25 AMP Car & Motorcycle Battery Charger and Maintainer, Float Charge for Automotive, and ATVs - Smarter Than a Trickle Charger I attach the permanent charging harness tail to the battery directly, the line has a fuse in it...

    1330 Performance Upgrades

I think one of the issues is the for a $30,000 vehicle, changing something that will likely effect your power train warranty might not be all that desirable. Frankly, two up in the canyons, another 25 bhp wouldn’t be all that helpful. On the freeway 25 bhp might make a big difference. One...

Is a 2015 F3-S Rear wheel the same as 2015 RT?

Many years ago, when I lived in England, I had a Lotus 7 with about a dyno-ed 145 bhp on tap. It was exciting enough and had no nanny aids nor even just ABS. However, it had a very, very low center of gravity. However, give a Spyder RT like mine the same power to weight ratio as the Lotus and...

Any low cost/OBDII Diagnostic tools for Spyders?

    My 2018 Triumph Bonneville T120 used OBD-II.

What is the actual break-in mileage? First oil-change due when?

I think the days of leaving appreciable manufacturing matter in the engine are hopefully long gone (well apart from current Toyota V6 engines I suppose :) ). The first recommended oil change is 3,000 miles. I did mine at 2000 miles due to the fact it was that mileage after the winter layover...

    Oil analysis @ 3 years & 9500 miles.

Ozzie: Thanks for fixing this for me. As I was not born in the US, I have never adapted to a measurement system used by only 3 countries worldwide: the US, Myanmar (Burma) and Liberia. Despite having been here 34 years, I have to do a mental conversion every time somebody quotes weight...

    1330 Performance Upgrades

Yes, I agree the F3 is designed to be a bit sportier but it isn't that much cheaper though, so I think it is still priced out of the range of younger riders. The price of a Ryker is much more approachable. You've got me beat, only 6.5 decades, but I just wanted to give it a good blast just for...

    Oil analysis @ 3 years & 9500 miles.

I suspect BRP chose 9300 miles because that is almost exactly 15,000 kilometers in Canadian money.

    1330 Performance Upgrades

Took my RT LTD for the first time this season, running through the tank of gas I stored it with over the winter. On the way home, two up here at 5,000 feet where we are probably down at least 10% on full power, I gave it full welly on the freeway on-ramp. Running it up to max revs, it pulled...

Replacing Camshaft Sensor - is there enough clearance for allen key type torx?

I'd use the ratchet, but use a higher quality 1/4" Torx bit, not the cheap Harbor Freight ones.

Will Using 87 Octane impact performance?

Need to be aware that North America uses the average of MON+RON ratings (also know as AKI = (MON+RON)/2). I think Australia like the EU uses just the RON rating (or E10 perhaps). 91 to 94 octane in North America is premium (94 most places, 91 here at 5,000+ feet). I think if you are running 91...

Where to purchase Kenda Kanine rear tire?

Available from Amazon for $97.97 for a Wednesday delivery, well here in Utah anyway. Might try them. They have fronts too.

Are you happy with your aftermarket CAR tires?

Ten or more years ago, I would have understood BRP's viewpoint. Stability control systems were a new fangled idea and manufacturers had little experience of how such systems behaved in the real world on anything other than the OEM tire fitments. However, now most cars have stability control...

Completed my semi annual "lie on my back and add air to the rear tire" routine

With bad arthritis, which is why I bought the Spyder in the first place, getting down on the ground is for me the easiest way to connect the inflating device no matter which type I use. I do use a nice piece of off cut carpet to lie on nowadays. The entertaining and somewhat painful bit is...

Anyone replaced the Saddlebag Release Cable on a 2021 RT? Seen a video?

There is a service bulletin recorded with the US Government Transport site for recalls, I forget its name. I hate being old. In that bulletin, it states the replacement cables should be made of stainless steel. You might want to check what they gave you as replacements.
