• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Thanks Lamont

Thanks, Ticketbait. My Spyder actually had a little over 5,000 miles, which means the new owner still got a great ryde. I did pass along info about this site to the new owner and hope he decides to join.

    Thanks Lamont

I just wanted to publicly thank Lamont for setting up an excellent:thumbup: site and attracting so many great ryders who provided great advice (and comedic moments) over the years. I still remember the anticipation of reading the early forum messages back in the day and waiting for my spyder to...

    carry a pistol?

With such a long thread I’m too lazy to go back and quote the original sources directly, so please forgive the paraphrasing! One poster stated that he would not run if confronted by a bad guy. I’ve been fortunate enough to train with some of the leading international self-defense and...

Just bought me some funny looking shoes

These are great for martial arts and the gym--and I like that you can throw them in the washing machine. They became really popular after the bestseller 'Born to Run', a great book where the argument is made that traditional running shoes lead to more injuries because all the extra cushioning...

    New SpyderLovers Sponsor- Rent-A-Spyder

Welcome to the new sponsor. It's great to see reasonable prices for Spyder rentals in CO and HI. I was in Boulder for three weeks last summer, and I wasn't able to bring my Spyder. I found a company that had a Spyder to rent, but the price was so ridiculously high that I couldn't bring myself...

    PAY IT FORWARD

PM sent--please let me know if it is still available. Someone sat on my bike when I wasn't around and left a small gash in the seat.

    what exhaust?

Bad news from V and H I spoke with the folks from V and H today and they "decided to kill the spyder exhaust project." They didn't provide the reason(s), but I was really looking forward to a V and H pipe on my Spyder. The customer rep told me he would honor their agreement to give me a free...

    My new number plate

Why would you (or anyone) spend money to change the plate? I don't get it?

    Tampa Area

Thanks mouthpiece and Florida Ryder. I've never been to Tampa, so I don't really know much about the area. I'll check out Clearwater and go online to find out more about areas close to the campus.

    Tampa Area

I have a similar question to Bersquack's: I have a job possibility at Univ. of South Florida in Tampa. I've heard good things about St. Petes, and Pasco County (from this site). Could one live in these areas and commute at 'off-traffic' times? Keep in mind I live in So. Cal so I understand...

Giant City Lodge (MO and IL) SHORT NOTICE RYDE!

Giant City brings back lots of good memories. I earned a doctorate at Southern Illinois University (Go Salukis!), and to get away from the stress of the program spent countless hours hiking with my dog in Giant City. When my family visited for graduation, I took them to the Giant City Lodge to...

How do you tell an old Harley guy/spyderlover?

I owned a Harley 1200 custom before the spyder, which was pretty quick through all the gears. Not as fast as the vrod, but 1200 cc on a relatively light cruiser wasn't bad. Vance and Hines is coming out with an exhaust for the Spyder in Sept./Oct. They used my Spyder for the prototype to road...

    what exhaust?

V and H I picked up my Spyder from V and H today. They had it for about a month, which was fine because I have been traveling out of state and wasn't able to ryde. Unfortunately they weren't willing to let me keep or post a picture of the prototype on the Spyder--bummer. However, they did...

    Boulder question

Hi CO. ryders. I am visiting Boulder for a few weeks from California. I could not bring my Spyder with me, and already feel like I am missing some great ryding here. If you have a spyder you would be willing to rent to me for a day or two to get my fix, please send me an e-mail...

    what exhaust?

Not sure--they explained in an e-mail that the pc they had wasn't working correctly, and they have a new one coming in to work with.
