• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How is the car tire vs bike tire working out?

Just some outside input - I have 4 reverse trikes of my own and run Continentals up front and various brands on the rear. Average life on the front is 40-45k and rear a bit less at 32k. 16-18 psi front and 24 on the rear. Early on I tried Kenda tires and did not have any luck with, well any...

Spyder is REALLY different - tried test ride, barely made it out of the dealer's lot

Don't feel bad you are not alone! OK I am involved with motorcycle owners and trikes and the very first question I ask a new tester is " have you ever ridden an ATV or snowmobile?" In general anyone who has will have little to no problems adjusting to a trike. The life long riders who have...

    I Found The Thrill

Historically trikes have always been marketed as a compromise to motorcycling. You have heard it I am sure, "when I get to old to hold up the bike I will go with a trike - if I have to I guess" of course this because the old fashion and backwards way of triking out a motorcycle is a compromise...

    feeling unstable

Sway bar is a good option as it will hold the trike more level during cornering. Try using a stiff arm for turning, meaning instead of just turning the bars lock or semi lock your outside elbow, this will help eliminate the feeling of flying off. I would not recommend alignment as a cure as the...

Migration from two-wheel motorcycle to spyder

    1. How easy was it to migrate to a Spyder from your two-wheel motorcycle, technically and emotionally? It depends - I normally ask people if they have ever ridden ATV's most notably snowmobiles. If they are from the midwest or mountain states and say yes than the transition is very short term...

    Winter Riding

I ride all winter but only mandatory test rides around town (MN) and perhaps a few miles of highway if the roads are dry. Two wheels can be a real thrill when the roads are icy but 3 is not bad. Worst part is being stuck at a stop light with the rear wheel just spinning away. Every day is a new...

US imposes 300% import tariff on Bombardier

Pretty sure those old 750 fours would beat current day HD's (I own a Road King so I know) I remember back when I worked at the Harley shop and HD stock was selling for 5 cents a share just prior to AMF buying HD. The US tried tariffs against the Asian market then but it didn't seem to do much...

    Elio Motors is spiralling down......

i would have to say yes. At a selling price of $6800 there was no way a profit could have been realized. I would estimate $20-24k would have been a reasonable figure and perhaps at that MSRP a profit may have happened if the big three didn't pounce as soon as production commenced. Many jumped in...

    Laser Alignment

I would say any tire wear of this type is due to improper inflation and or toe adjustment. Laser is just a method and is not more or less accurate than other toe adjustment methods. A true alignment involves much more than simple toe and toe has very little affect on handling. The main objective...

    myths and prejudices...

What leaning vehicle can do this, Not a spyder but close enough. Bikers and Trikers all in one. Just one of the enhancements of riding a SportTrike – you can also be a biker! Today we loaded up our 16 speeds and headed off to the state bicycle trail for a bit of fun. Hit some road construction...

    myths and prejudices...

Very nice posting Jason. I hear this a lot "The slingshot is not a motorcycle it's a car" they then go on to say " I would not buy one I will just buy a car" I guess somehow that makes sense but I don't know how. I also get the "if it doesn't lean what fun is it?" I guess that comment explains...

    Which Toy Hauler

I purchased a small hauler last year - Forest River 25RR which measures 30 tongue to tail. We just wanted the smallest toyhauler we could find that would be easy to pull and could hold one trike plus our bicycles, golf clubs and other things while at shows and camping. This unit works very well...

    Slide Over Spyder - Honda’s Neo-Wing

This is a bike Honda will probably never build. If you study the physics there is no advantage to a trike that leans. It's a neat novelty item that will draw attention but holds no advantage over a standard 2 wheel motorcycle. Cornering is not improved nor is braking or ground clearance. BRP and...

    myths and prejudices...

This is a great statement and the root of this all resides in the history of trikes and trike conversions. Prior to BRP and the Spyder the conversion to a trike was definitely a step down and a compromise. The backwards trikes handle like wagons and steering is harsh and unnatural. The marketing...

    F3T test report

I design and engineer RT's for a living. My purpose was simply to say how far BRP has come since 2008. Tough crowd :sour:
