• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Your Weather News @ December Edition 2025

In the forest at 5800 feet. 100-foot-tall pine trees with lots and lots of pine needles (and cones). Bags and bags, not including the half acre back yard. Just bags and bags of pine needles. No grass, just bags and bags of pine needles...

Anyone else got a Pool of Water in the Frunk? Any fixes?

. Always dry, even after a few frog choking gully washers!

What did you do to your Spyder today?

. Repaired the sequential fender light on the right fender. It would come on but not be sequential. The break was at a crimp connector in the inner fender. I will never use crimp connectors again!!!!!! Have the solder type that seals agains water and is easy to use a heat gun on. Lew L

    Markleeville and back

Rode to Markleeville and back with our neighbors. They were both on 2 wheels and we were on the trusty old 2014 RT. I played lead both ways, though I like to ryde sweep. Great little cafe for lunch. Her BMW 650 GS started to act up on the way home, though.

    'The Lamonster Chronicles'

I had a 1998 Valk Tourer and it was a wonderful bike. Stable, fast (for a big girl), comfortable. Needed a better passenger seat though. If my wife didn't have worsening vertigo (thus the Spyder) I would still have it... Lew L

Is there a seat to lower the passenger height on a 2011 RT?

Stumpy, I have the extendable rack and it works well. Also, getting more air coming into the "passenger compartment" Really helps with 2 things: 1. passenger turbulence at the helmet. 2. Dirt, rain, and shmutz being pulled in by the low-pressure area created by the windshield. I have a...

Should I get a 2014 now, or wait and get a newer model? Any 'gotta have' features?

Like Jay, I like my 2014 RT-S. I've modded it for performance not looks. Over the years it's given a few problems such as the thermostat falling apart and the DESS needing replacement but other than those 2 items it has been fast and flawless. Lew L

An interesting interview, Motocap Chief Scientist

That is VERY interesting... learned a bunch even though I only listened to the first 2/3's of it.

I've gone from ATGATT to H (just Helmet).

All the gear all the time... jeans usually though. Leather chaps look silly on me. But I do have a ryde to the Bay area for my 60th HS reunion coming soon, so I'll wear them then; I do dread the crowded conditions of the SF Bay area. Lane splitting riders make me nervous, even though I used to...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Magic mirror mounts are GREAT!!! Be sure to use the retention straps, don't ask me how I know... Lew L

Let’s start a fad - passing Spider Rings (from Amazon) to other Spyders

Gremlin Bells on both the 2014🕷️and the poor, old, slow V-Max. Where would you put a ring and is there any history behind it????
