• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Most amount of miles/KM you have ridden in one day on the Spyder

1,150 miles in November 2024. First Spyder IBA ride. 50 on 2 wheels.

At what mileage did you buy your first set of replacement tires?

My first replacement of OEM rear tire was at about 8400mi. Of those miles I am responsible for 7,000 miles. That is about what I got out of my rear OEM tire on my two wheel motorcycles. It Sucks. I am still running the OEM front tires at 10,000 miles

Having difficulties properly Filling the gas tank!

I know it’s an old thread. Twice I have had 33 or 35 miles to empty on my 22 RT, I put in 6.2 gallons. It was time consuming.

2022 RT limited throws codes every ride! Anyone else having these issues?

I hope you have better luck in cold weather than I did. At 50F it was very slow cranking. Took me several tries. Found out not unusual as batt must warm up. Low voltage into the starter regularly will ruin it. No Li for me as a starter.

Have any of you added an Aux Tank to a 2020+ RT?

Thank you Bert for the codes and the follow up. I think I have my question answered and can move forward with my project.

Have any of you added an Aux Tank to a 2020+ RT?

I really appreciate all the No BS input. Not like I got on my first install on a carbureted motorcycle. Thank you. All are good ideas that I am familiar with. I do not want to install a bung to the tank, asking for another weak spot. I do not want to have to use a pump if I can avoid it...

Have any of you added an Aux Tank to a 2020+ RT?

Thank you. I did some searches but nothing came up on 2020+ and nothing will codes being thrown. Plumbing through vent/evap is the way I planned. Then the aux tank vent would be the vent. If by passing the evap and aux being the vent for the system. I know to be sure aux tank is empty before...

Have any of you added an Aux Tank to a 2020+ RT?

Please don’t lecture me on the need to stop. Please don’t ask WHY. No lectures of any kind. I have heard them all. If you are an LD rider you understand. I like to fuel when I want to, not when I have to. Sort of like a gun fight, reload when you want to, not when you have too. Please no...

My new baby - which gas? 87, E10, or is 91 octane better?

Manual states 87 OK in Canada and US. 10% ethanol ok. In other countries the posted octane may be research octane which is lower than US and Canada AKI pump posting. AKI=(R+M)/2. Often times in owners manual the words premium gasoline appear which is misleading. It usually means top quality...

Contemplating buying a Spyder - any reliability, power, and buyer's remorse issues?

Do a search for Spyder pros and cons. I’m in Yellowstone now. When I get to my computer I’ll try to remember to PM you my list.

Contemplating buying a Spyder - any reliability, power, and buyer's remorse issues?

I converted 6 months ago after 15 years and 300,000 touring miles on 2 wheels. I posted a list of pros and cons for Spyder. I like it much better than traditional trike. It is better handling and safer. After 5000 miles of touring on the Spyder I can say I like the Spyder RTL. I’ll try to locate...

Had to wear Gloves for Can Am riding course - Do you wear gloves? Why? Or why not?

Most motorcycle classes require full fingered gloves. I wear them all the time. I have different weight gloves for changes in the weather, some heated (don't need much anymore with heated grips), some gore tex. I am ATGATT guy, saved my life once. After 300,000 miles in 15 years in all kinds...

Just had my 1st service done - they used 4T 0W40 synthetic oil - anyone else?

As long as it is 4T with no molybdenum, synthetic is better, is OK for wet clutches and the Spyder. The required weight should be in the owners manual. I ran into a similar thing with our mini van on the weight. The dealer put in 0-40 when right on the dip stick it states 10-30. Of course...

What power outlet & fuse do you use for heated clothing?

I was going to say, Use the DIN/Hella/BMW/John Deere socket and connector. Thanks On my other motorcycles I used the above by Powerlet (I think they went under) then some adapters when needed to run anything to plug in, even a jumper cable. It was wired to my generic fuse block. I am not...

Passed my Washington State 3 wheel license test

3 wheel endorsement not required in Texas but need a motorcycle endorsement. Since 3 wheels handle different than 2 or 4 and Syders are different than traditional trike, I am not opposed to requiring a separate endorsement for 3 wheels. I took the Evergreen 3 wheel riding class here in...
