• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What size Trailer to Haul Two Spyders? What ramp angle?

I know this is an old thread but... U-Haul is rolling out a new toy hauler trailer. It is supposed to be available this summer. 23 feet long, 8.5 feet wide with 3 loading rails. Rental price is not set yet but is estimated to be between $50 and $60 per day.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Last Saturday we took the RT out for the first 2 up ride of the season. We rode to lunch and then visited an arboretum. Very warm for this early in the year with a high temperature of 81 degrees F. 110 miles for the day.

Any discussion/opinions on extra Upright Grips on handlebar ends?

I think you are asking about "Helibars". These are a very adjustable brand of handlebars. https://www.helibars.com/?srsltid=AfmBOoqIWSpbIBA4VOOYLYbAEZhuRarRvo7MGipHgUxRSuv468nzQFU0

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Last Wednesday I had a slow speed deer strike on my Honda NC750XD. The bike and I went down on the right side. I was "wearing all the gear" except for elbow pads in the jacket. They were removed because they interfered with putting on the coat while wearing heavier clothing like sweat shirts...

What iPhone phone app do you use to plan & track your trips?

Garmin Zumo XT, I frequently ride in areas with no cell phone reception. In eastern Pennsylvania no road runs straight for very long, so going by guess and by golly can get you very nicely lost.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Rode to the retiree’s breakfast, then went grocery shopping. Still had one side case empty, should have bought some chips for Saturday’s football games on TV.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I went for a 140 miler over several different road types to exercise the replacement power steering unit. The unit works like a champ. No warnings and no fault codes. Cautiously optimistic the problem is fixed. Changed the stock handlebar for the "Long Reach" handlebar for tall riders. Raises...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Went for a 90 miler today. The route was selected to check out the new power steering unit. Lots of twisties, off camber turns, tight turns, and uneven surfaces. So far so good! No warnings, no fault codes. Tomorrow will be a longer ride on different roads.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

We picked up the bike from the shop after having the dynamic power steering unit replaced under warranty. We've had intermittent "Check DPS" error messages since day one on the bike ride home from the dealer. We have made monthly visits to the shop during the riding season. It was a difficult...

Wondering how many owners do not know this is possible?

I found out about it the first time I took the bike in for a service. While riding the bike in for service the bike went into limp mode. I called the shop and told them. They said pull it in and leave it running. They would have their tech and laptop ready. When I got there the service tech...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Just back from an 8 day trip around the western Finger Lakes area of New York. We rode 2 up and fully loaded. It was a nice trip that combined sight seeing at Niagara Falls Ontario, day hikes in the Watkins Glenn area to see waterfalls, and trips to a few museums. First day was a 6 hour ride in...

How do you mange riding a Spyder and a motorcycle?

When I switch from riding my Honda to the Can Am I have to remember to upshift. The Honda is fully automatic. When switching from the Can Am to the Honda I have to consciously remind myself to cancel the turn signals and to not use the thumb shifter because on the Honda the thumb shift is a...
