• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How to Use BaseCamp an Instructional Guide

Is this link only for Windows? I've tried to access it in five different browsers on my iMac and each of them give me a "File Not Found" page. ken tompkins

    2014 Part Number?

Mike....Thanks for the suggestion. If I understand what you said -- I may not -- you suggest that I should (1) buy the Sirius Connect Satellite Radio Vehicle Tuner and (2) an Onyx Receiver. In the kit there is a power source link for the radio, an antenna for the radio and a place to plug the...

Do It! I'm 82. Last summer I put 9000+ miles on my third Spyder riding from NJ to CA, OR, WA and home. Just do it! ken tompkins

On the Fence More Than Ever About Purchasing a Spyder....

First of all, You are correct in saying that service is very important. That's why choosing reliable dealer is so important. Most of us have found that Spyders having problems when recently purchased are Spyders that were not set up right at the dealer. That is crucial and it is worth driving...

    CB Cable/Entertainment Cable Pin Out

If anyone has a pin out description of the 7 pin connector on the dash, I'd be thankful if you'd send it to me. The connector fits into the center of the panel where the various switches (parking brake, fog lights, rear shock adjuster, etc.) are located. If you have a factory installed CB, the...

The most miserable road I have ever been on.

The Worst Road In the US Don't want to hijack this thread but on my recent 9000 mile tour of the west coast we went on, what I believe, is the worst road in the US. Shocking claim, I know, but I have never seen a worse road. It starts in Ferndale, CA almost as a side street. Officially, at...

Long Rides, Shawn Smoak and a "Perfect" Touring Bike

A few of you may know that I have ridden long rides in the last four summers with a small group named Country Roads Group Riding. I visited National Parks in the West (2013), Nova Scotia (2014), Canadian Rockies (2015) and, this year, the West Coast. Each of these rides was at least 7000 miles...

    FOBO Spot On

FOBO on my 2014 RTS I was looking today at the valve stems on the front wheels of my RTS and there is not much clearance between the top end of the stem and wheel. Can anyone provide the height of the FOBO sensor. Also will it create problems if. after installing, the sensor touches the rim? I...

    Nexar Might Be Useful

For those iPhone users who use their phones on their Spyders, Nexar might be very helpful especially in urban traffic. It records traffic problems and dangerous events. It detects sudden stopping or accidents ahead. Eventually, it will connect to other users so that traffic problems can be...

    Dealer Reviews NJ

Attlantic City Cycle Center I suggest you look at Atlantic City Cycle Center. I have dealt with them for years, have purchased two Spyders from them and have full confidence in their staff and Tech. Though they sell a variety of bikes, what I like about them is that they are NOT a mega-dealer...

    Stolen Spyders ?

That was NJEddie and he was attending the Magog Spyder event. The thieves cut the hinges on the trailer door, somehow got the bike out and it was gone. Don't remember the details but remember well chatting with NJEddie about it. This reminds me that I haven't seen him on here in a very long...

    E-Z Pass Report...

Where To Put An EZ Pass Module I have had mine in the small glove compartment on all three of my Spyders (2008, 2013, 2014). It has always worked there even under glasses, ear plugs, candy bars and LED flashlight. ken tompkins
