• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Corbin Trunkbox

Yea, Rando ... that's the one to which I was referring. But I will definitely wait for as long as it takes for the two-helmet version with the (hopefully) optional passenger armrests. Being a former Wing Nut myself, I (and of course my wife) was spoiled by the cacoon in which the Goldwing...

Found a small shiny spring under my Spyder

Here's a pic of the little bugger. Sorry to be so late with posting this pic. My footpegs have their springs in place so it's not that. As you can see, it's pretty small (5/8" long and less than 1/4" OD).

    Corbin Trunkbox

I sent them an email inquiry but have not heard back yet. Some of you are considerable more familiar with Corbin products than others due to your close proximity to their facility and personal/professional relationships with their staff. Has anyone heard if their yet-to-be-released Trunkbox...

    Batteryminder

Can anyone recommend a reliable (but not outrageously expensive) batteryminder? Has anyone used a solar-powered batteryminder (my garage is 30' from the house with no power so solar might be the way to go). Thanx, Ken

Found a small shiny spring under my Spyder

I've never removed any of the pegs. Would that be something that the dealer would have done during the 1000 km service (a few weeks ago)? The little spring's location (directly centered under the bike) probably doesn't mean a whole lot considering the innate dynamics of any spring. Could have...

Found a small shiny spring under my Spyder

It was on the garage floor directly under the middle of the bike. It's about 5/8" long, comprised of about 8 coils, nice shiny metal (not painted), fairly easily compressable, and an ID about the size of a #12 machine screw. There's nothing else "new" in my garage so I'm 99% sure it fell from...

    Bushtec Hitch and Corbin Saddlebags

Sounds funny doesn't it? I'm going to rough it with my $1,600 saddlebags. I totally agree with you of course. It just sounds funny. Hey ... have you had any water-leakage problems with yours? I've heard that from other Corbin bag owners. Ken

    Bushtec Hitch and Corbin Saddlebags

Waiting for Bushtec's 2009 offering is what I'll do (even if it doesn't hit the streets until early spring. I already own the Corbin saddlebags (although not yet installed) and I've had nothing but pleasant experiences with Bushtec in the past. Thanks for your reply Ken. Ken

    Bushtec Hitch and Corbin Saddlebags

Does that combination work? Judging from the "look" of the Bushtec hitch, it appears to partially occupy the same space as the Corbin bags.

    PINK Spyder... that's just wrong!

Hold on there fellas. Let's recalibrate our obviously-myopic outlook just a smidge here. In 1968 (long before many of you were of the age for such things to matter), the Playboy Playmate of the Year was awarded (earned) a pink AMC AMX. As I recall (I mean ... as I remember being told by my...

does anyone have the carbin fairing

Had one. Hated it. Sent it back. Sadly, for most folks, it's not something you can test drive. Once purchased, there is no refund from Corbin. With that in mind, take your time with this (or any Corbin) purchase. See if there is another Spyder owner within driving distance who has the...

    Powder Coated Corbin Brackets

I agree, Scotty. I tried to back out of my first order from Corbin (the fairing/windshield) due to its ineffectiveness and poor-quality bracket paint job but they would not allow a refund. The best I could do was trade it in on a more expensive item (the saddlebags). So I already knew what a...

    Powder Coated Corbin Brackets

Fiberglass work is great. Brackets are functional. Bracket painting is deplorable. I called them to ask if they had a powder coating option. They do not. So when my saddlebags arrived I found bare spots on the brackets, wet paint, and fingerprints imbedded here and there. Took it to a...

Drilling a hole in the ignition key

Message received. I'm laughing so hard at your immediate and adamant replys that I'm on the verge of snot bubbles. I can see, also, that the "you have messages" light is flashing furiously on my early-morning office phone. No doubt they're from additional SpyderLovers. I don't particularly...

Drilling a hole in the ignition key

Thanks, guys. The reason I even posed the question was because another poster (not sure which forum) said that he had ordered an ignition key blank from BRP (for less than $7) and then went down to his local hardware store with that blank and one of his original Spyder ignition keys in-hand. He...
