• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Smackdab Summer Solstice Run –*Kansas to North Dakota!

Let's do it again,,,, Wow, this was a great ride and we made new friends as well. Weather was great and you have to remember that rain is Mother Nature's way of saying you motorcycle gear needs a wash. Rugby was only about 40 miles south of the Canadian border so we strayed over into Canada for...

    2014 Alternator amperage...

I was going to look for a formula. I assumed (bad, very bad) that someone already worked it out. Here in Kansas, the only math we do is counting the fence poles along I-70 from Kansas City to the Colorado border. Even after taking my shoes off I only got to the Kansas Welcome Center East of...

GPS cable through windshield support opening...

Wow, thanks for all the responses. I'm going to eyeball what all I have to do this weekend but the JT route with the cable going through the windshield support looks like a good option. Now all I have to do is get the top of the dash apart as nothing can be as simple as removing the two screws...

GPS cable through windshield support opening...

I took a look at my RT and agree the best place to have a GPS is up on the dash. Has anyone mounted their GPS up on the dash (I'm thinking of JT's dash mount) and routed the GPS cable to a power source through the hole where the windshield support arms are? I would use flex ties to secure the...

    Handlebar Spyder bling...

Does anyone know who makes the little shield (BRP-speak is crystal silver cap) with a a Spyder logo on it in the middle of the handlebars? I remember seeing it advertised but can't remember who had them. KS

Making the Spyder RT a better tourer...

Wow, what a great response! Now I understand why some of you may have trailers behind your Spyder. I'm really impressed with the feedback. Plenty of good advice about some tweaks to the Spyder and improving the ryder - me. No kidding, I had several "doh" moments when I realized all the...

Making the Spyder RT a better tourer...

Wow, keep it coming! I appreciate the help as I tend to be a minimalist and I have to learn to think beyond socks and underwear! Somebody in the Kansas Spyders suggested a RiderID bracelet. What a great idea as my wife won't let me wear my dogtags any longer. I checked with AAA too and they will...

Making the Spyder RT a better tourer...

Wow, thanks for the good ideas. Todays purchases included a small compressor and a tire kit, frog toggs, and an emergency space blanket. I'm going to continue adding items as funds permit. Who makes some safe fuel containers as traveling in Kansas refueling every chance you get is a survival...

Making the Spyder RT a better tourer...

I'm going to be taking multiple 3-4 day trips this summer on my 2012 RT A&C. What should I consider for common sense additions or adjustments to make to the stock RT better suited for that type of touring? I travel light so I don't need a trailer The top of my list is the BajaRon sway bar...

Are Top Vents on RTs Functional?

upper air vents I removed the air deflectors on the side by the windshield and it "seems" like the air on the right side is not as hot as it could be. I'll put the deflectors back on when it gets cold enough as i ride year-round. But I have been thinking of things to adapt to make an air...

    NOT the only Spyder!

That was me you passed when crossing Metropolitan! I saw all the Harley riders and then counted three Spyders. Seems like the Spyders are marking new territory.
