• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thank you to all that replied, but I have decided not to purchase

Having problems is one thing, having problems and having the manufacturer turn their back on you is another. Every vehicle I have ever owned has had an issue or a recall of some type. Every manufacturer has done their level set best to take care of the issues with exception of BRP. I am happy...

New Spyder owner having buyers remorse

Sorry, but you are likely screwed on this one. :banghead: If my experience and others out here is any example, you just may have been totally screwed! Im really sorry and unfortunately it sounds like you had no opportunity to really ride this thing before yours went nuclear. All those saying...

That is the best decision you may have ever made. You just saved yourself from a potential nightmare.

B.E.S.T. warranty does not cover exploding clutch at 13k miles - 2008 RS - Premier Ed

Is Carlo dead? Well the debacle continues!! It has now been 6 months my spyder has been in the shop. The dealer said the last part was to come in last week and well it did on the 19th. Unfortunately it was not the last part and there are more on back order. BRP straight up lied to me about...

B.E.S.T. warranty does not cover exploding clutch at 13k miles - 2008 RS - Premier Ed

UPDATE - I have been waiting since late July for back order parts. Dealer called yesterday and bearings they need are backordered to mid September. This will be 6 months before they even fire it up the first time to see how they did. :banghead: Maybe October I will have it back at this rate.

Dealer made the comment about seeing this clutch explosion on SE-5 as well. FYI

B.E.S.T. warranty does not cover exploding clutch at 13k miles - 2008 RS - Premier Ed

Response from BRP - HORRIBLE!! Well BRP was watching this thread and reached out to me to get more details a few weeks back. I told Natasha the whole story. I gave her the 3 CALL-ID's i had for customer service, talked to her about my concerns with the repair, the clutch not being covered and...

B.E.S.T. warranty does not cover exploding clutch at 13k miles - 2008 RS - Premier Ed

I have spoken with customer service. I called myself after the dealer told me about the slow walking issue. This was after I raised a little hell being 3 months in. - first time I called, gave them my VIN and they confirmed my name and told me there was no claim on my bike. They gave me a...

B.E.S.T. warranty does not cover exploding clutch at 13k miles - 2008 RS - Premier Ed

There were no indications of any issues. The clutch seemed perfect at the time, until it wasn't. I had never had any slipping issues or shifting problems. It went from good to nuclear instantly.

B.E.S.T. warranty does not cover exploding clutch at 13k miles - 2008 RS - Premier Ed

Some photos from the dealer on what was left of the clutch components. I am pretty disappointed and have reached out to Carlo. I am also thinking about reaching out to legal advisor now to see what can be done. Even if BRP fixes my Spyder to my satisfaction, its been months and I have missed a...

B.E.S.T. warranty does not cover exploding clutch at 13k miles - 2008 RS - Premier Ed

Back in April my Spyder completely went nuclear. Now I am not a mechanic, but I like to think myself a pretty logical person. Best the dealer can tell is the clutch suffered catastrophic failure when the clutch plates broke apart into several pieces. Clutch material reportedly went through the...

    Emergency Break Not Working

Thanks for the post, I was at 4 clicks and catching only 50% of the time. Im now at 3 clicks with solid engagement. Had to go for the big nut and adjust the arm a tad as the minor adjustment was all the way out, but took only 15 minutes. :2thumbs:

    Loss of Community member

Before I even read the post from Way2fast and the subsequent "take it to another thread rhetoric" response, I thought of the DPS issue and said a prayer for the ryder. Not to be insensitive, but he is gone and there are other ryders alive with steering issues, some which will not realize it...
