• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Goodbye, it HAS been fun

Thanks again, To the post from pro10is. I very much appreciate the advice, but this has been going on for almost a year. I have tried wearing an elbow brace and wrist brace, ibuprofen etc., all for naught. It doesn't hurt so bad that I'm stuck, but it's very uncomfortable. It is indeed a...

    Goodbye, it HAS been fun

Hello All, I haven't been around for a while, but the forum had been so helpful to me when I was thinking about buying (and afterward buying) that I wanted to say "Thanks" before I left. I have some kind of soft tissue damage in my right elbow and the push- pull steering of the Spyder seems to...

    Throttle Body update 2011-7

My parents 2011 RT-S went about 300 miles and then wouldn't run anymore. After having the Limp home mode cleared, it would run almost 80 miles and then go into limp home mode again. It was the throttle body assembly. After seeing that there was a TSB, I told them to call right the dealer...

Rear turn signal light bulb change

If you watch my YouTUbe video on how to install the HMT brake light you will see how I took off that back panel. That will also allow you to replace the reverse light, T-signal bulb.

RT Brake Pedal Seems to Take too much pressure

I had a brake upgrade on my Harley and it stopped sooooo nicely (compared to how bad it was stock). Having three wide tires and three disc brakes on the Sypder, I feel it could stop a little better than it does. However, having said that, I have felt the anti-lock brakes kick in a few times...

    Water Wetter

I did a search, sorry if this is a duplicate. It has been very high humidity here (for the desert) and an indicated 106°F - so it's hot. Although the temp gauge has never gone onto the red, it is very close. Less than one demarcation point away). I have heard that the analog gauges are not...

    Lack of dealer competence

Yeah, the dealership that my parents bought from assured them that they had seven fully qaulified mechanics. When the throttle body on their RT-S went bad, they couldn't figure out anything. Turns out they do have seven mechanics, but only one was Spyder trained and they didn't have a BUDS...

    DIY video for you

Bozzzz, The semi-Auto takes a little over 4 quarts. The manual takes 4, check your manual just to make sure. Bikeguy, Yeah, I thought that the siphoning comment might be a little controversial. I have used this method before with a marine oil siphon and not the hand operated cylinder that...

    DIY video for you

Sinkhole, thanks for that info. I wasn't certain about the rear end. I'll look into that for next time. Lamonster, Thank you for the support. It was kinda cool to do. I think I'll do some more at some point. John S,

    gas mileage

Quick reply to the O.P. When I run 87 octane (which the manual states is a possibility), my mileage is about 24-26mpg. When I run only the 91 octane, my mileage is 29-31mpg. These numbers are going about 65-70 mpg. I have a 2010 RT and I did cut about 5 inches off of the wind screen. I...

    DIY video for you

I love DIY on You Tube. I love Eric The Car Guy, Briansmobile1, and Real Fixes Real Fast. I thought, "Hey, I think I can do that." Of course I'm not too good with a camera, and I have Tinker-Toy Video editing skills. But here are some Spyder specific videos. I hope you'll forgive my...

    RT tensioners

Video Hey Capt. Jim, So far I love the tennsioner. I have just uploaded a couple of videos to you tube. One is specifically about the accessories that I have on the RT. Go to You Tube and type in JohnSRosamond It's a static video (I'm not Ryding it), but I did give you credit.

Anyone else having Throttle Position Sensor faults on start-up?

I have never had trouble, but my parent's 2011 got to the point where they couldn't ride it at all. Been on the trailer for a few hundred miles (several trips to dealer). Bad dealer couldn't figure it out. Good dealer saw what was happening and diagnosed the throttle body (and the position...

    Possible brake fluid leaks

No, I hadn't added any fluid, ever. It looks like the rubber gasket under the caps has an over large vent slit in it, and that the material is very soft making it more likely that it might allow fluid to be able to get by.

    Possible brake fluid leaks

Twice now I have had a spot appear right in front of the rear wheel. A dark single drip that looks (at least a little) like engine oil. It's brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir. The rubber gasket in the reservoir cap has a little slit in it (on purpose). If your brake fluid level...
