• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What Tire gauge are you all using?

Good point. Worth a test. Here are three pressure checks on the rear tire. I decided to try it with the valve towards the top (I usually roll the Spyder to get the valve on the bottom.)

What Tire gauge are you all using?

Tire pressure guage I'm using I bought this from Amazon. OK price and good angle for reading the rear tire.

Spyder RT 2013 Owners - did the Recalls fix the issues?

My wife and I bought a 2013 Spyder RT Limited with 16K miles on it. The scoops are there so it appears all recalls had been done. We did the AZ Teams training for 3 wheel motorcycle in August so it go a little hot here in Phoenix. Hot enough that the engine threw an over heating code. But it...

Anybody have to repair a flat tire on the road?

I have the plug kit and small compressor as well. But how to hook up the compressor? A couple of alligator clips would be OK, after all how often will I use it? But for my analytical brain I wanted a more elegant way to hook it up. I have a quick connect plug dangling in the frunk that I use for...

    998cc RPMs at idle

My idle jumps the same: 1300-1400. Weird, but it runs great. I just try to keep it above 4000RPM. Haven't had it in 5th gear yet. 4th gear at 70mph runs great. I'm glad I have cruise control :)

    998cc Changing the shift shaft.

I'm with Eckhard on this. Cleaning up the the splines would be a good thing to try. Use a dremel cutting wheel, small file, and wire brush. Let us know how things work out. It's amazing how many "if only I had time" projects I've gotten done lately. ;)

    Oil Drain Plug Overtightened

Great advice! No leaks from the drain plugs so far. I had a minor seep on the oil filter. A slight tightening of the screws seems to have stopped it. The torque wrench is from Harbor Freight, so not high end. The long handle messes me up with the low torque values. I'll run some tests on it...

    Oil Drain Plug Overtightened

I'm doing my first oil change on my 2013 Spyder RT. Stupid torque wrench clicks so fast I'm never sure if it's set right or just messing with me. That said I'm pretty sure I cranked it too tight. :banghead::banghead: I've ordered another set of drain plug washers. Should I pull the plugs out and...

    Lifting my RT

For quick and easy lifting, I have this harbor freight aluminum jack. A little small for most auto/truck work, but great for the Spyder. It got the back wheel off the ground, no problem.

    Spyder RT Drive Belt Wandering

Thanks for the feedback. One less thing to worry about! I've ordered the belt tensioner from roadster renovation. My instinct says the belt is too tight. With the tensioner in place I will back it down to 160#-180# and see what kind of noise I get. I think with low mileage riders, a tight...

    Turn signal indicator

My wife and I have trouble seeing the turn signal indicators on the dash panel. Our Phoenix sun is too bright to show this indicator thru the dark smoke lenses on our helmets. I bought the Can-Am Spyder RT Side View Mirror Amber Turn Signal from SlingMods. The install is pretty easy. A total of...

    Spyder RT Drive Belt Wandering

I have a 2013 Spyder RT Limited. I had to replace the belt shortly after I purchased the Spyder in May, 2019 due to a hole punched thru the belt by a pebble. Since then I have noticed the new belt will wander from good alignment near the inside rim to the other side of the drive sprocket. The...

    Tired of it

We're waiting for better weather in Phoenix. Get up at 5am to 90° weather. By the time you get back from a ride it's 105°. Last Thursday-Friday we completed the 3wheel MC course with Team Arizona. During the riding test our Spyder displayed a check engine error. The code was P0127 which...

    I know it's hot...

Maybe in the fall we'll see if there is some interest in doing some common Spyder events like group rides, how-to workshops, cool spyder upgrades, contests, or whatever. Deb and I are in the East Valley - Gilbert. Just an easy, morning ride away from Avondale or Goodyear, right?

    2014 RT-S Driver Backrest

I've had my 2013 Spyder RT for 3 months. We had fun until the weather went above 110. The Spyder came with a backrest (Utopia?) I see a number of options on Ebay. Just a couple nuts and bolts under the seat and it's on. I was going to take it off, but my wife and I have gotten used to it. We...
