• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Robobrackets system and hand protection

I was out the other night in low 40's, about 60-70 MPH and so-so winter gloves with Robobrackets and their 22" shield. My hands were fine, but it wasn't a super long ride. I have the shield adjusted all the way up and as straight (so out at the top, in at the bottom) as could be. Overall, I...

    Need a Bigger Shield!

I had the 25" BRP Ultra Touring shield kit, and I just sold it (to another forum member) because I was not 100% pleased with it. It was MUCH better than stock, but I still got some wind noise on the top of my helmet. I tried the Madstad robobrackets with their 22" shield, and I couldn't be...

    Help picking windshield

I recently switched the Madstad w/ 22" shield and love it. Much better than the Ultra Touring 25" shield I had before. I am 6'0, stock bars / seat.

    Owners without problems - Rollcall

No problems here. Only have about 1300 miles on it, but so far, so good.

Fuel Line Chafing on my Spyder

This was a very helpful post... until the BRP bashing started. Those so unhappy with BRP really ought to sell their Spyders and buy something from another manufacturer they can complain about.

    Any snowmobilers?

I ride in northern NH a few times a year. I've got an 05 MXZ 800 and and 05 MXZ 600. That is one of the things I love so much about the Spyder - it is the closest thing I have found to a sled that I can use the other 9 months of the year.

Spyder update BRP Rep worked on it today...

Thank you for recommending the government take MY Spyder off the road. After all, I am not a free adult that can make rational risk/reward decisions, and I need the government to decide it for me. The paranoia around here, and the "solutions" being proposed are scary.

A Non Owners Impression after eviewing Forum

Understand your conclusion, but there are MANY happy owners out there that are rarely heard from. It's not all bad.

DPS Problems, We Can No Longer Ignore "The Elephant In The Living Room"

And the silent majority gets beaten into submission once again. Why post positive things when you only get bashed? If I had something I was truly scared to ride, I would sell it (and buy a Volvo, so I am can really have "safety") rather than gripe about it on a message board.

DPS Problems, We Can No Longer Ignore "The Elephant In The Living Room"

Wow, I am sure am glad I did not extensively read the forums before buying a Spyder. I may have been scared away by all the negativity. You all are doing a great job of scaring away potential owners. My experience has been nothing but positive, and I will guarantee you there are a LOT more...

I installed new Ultra Touring Windsheild

I also recently installed the 25" touring windshield and I am a little disappointed. The protection is awesome - no wind on my chest, face, legs (due to the side deflectors), but when I sit upright in my normal riding position, the buffeting on the top of my helmet is bad. I am 6' tall, and...

RT engine vs Gold Wing engine

One point on the reverse gear - its much better on the Spyder, as it is uses the engine power, not the electric starter as it does on the goldwing. I may be nuts, but I always hate using the reverse on the GW too long because it seems like it is hard on that little electric motor and the...

RT engine vs Gold Wing engine

Agree, apples and oranges... I am a new Spyder owner (08 SM5). I am young, and have owned a GL1800 (2 wheel) before (it was the only thing my wife would ride with me). My father recently became a Champion trike dealer, so this past week I got to ride my Spyder and a GL1800 with the Champion...
