• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone know Goldwing exhaust gaskets in Spyder exhaust longevity?

Hello all, I am curious if anyone knows how long the Honda exhaust gaskets last? I installed them on my Spyder roughly 2 and a half years ago. I don't feel any crazy heat on my legs out of the ordinary. I have a full set on hand ready to go based on your recommendations. Thank you all for...

You guys were right. A few shots of PB Blaster on the mechanism cleared it right up. Thanks for your rational solutions.

2008 GS SM5 engaging Reverse without using lever! Any ideas why? Fixes??

Freddy and YPILOT....thank you for your inputs. I will take a look at the assembly. I guess I was just assuming the worst considering the age of my Spyder. I have had it since 2011 and I guess its starting to show some age.

2008 GS SM5 engaging Reverse without using lever! Any ideas why? Fixes??

Hello all, I have a 2008 GS SM5 that has a reverse gear issue. For some reason I am able to engage the reverse gear without using the R lever. As you all know you have to be in first gear, pull the lever and kick down a notch. Mine will do it without pulling the lever. I found this out...

08 Spyder GS SM5 misfire/stumble when riding at steady speed

I saw a post on a Spyder Facebook page of someone mentioning the same symptoms. The fix for them was the throttle body gasket. Also their Spyder is the same age as mine and that compelled me to check. I am glad I did as mine were rock hard and cracked to the point where light could seen through...

08 Spyder GS SM5 misfire/stumble when riding at steady speed

Hey there, I know this thread is old and you may not even own your Spyder, but I found that with my 08, the throttle body gaskets were causing the issue. They were old, dry rotted and cracked. I changed them out and my Spyder runs perfectly now.

Engine light & Check Transmission = dead angle rotation sensor - easy fit?

Well I can say I am not familiar with the SE5 as I own an SM5. And yes, I was able to replace mine without removing the front sprocket. There is just enough space to get a torx bit on the bolt closest to the sprocket.

Engine light & Check Transmission = dead angle rotation sensor - easy fit?

I changed mine out without removing the front pulley. It takes a bit of wiggling, but it can be done. As BlueKnight mentioned, it will be easier of you disconnect the reverse cable It fixed my issue. 2008 GS SM5.

    Clutch Lever Adjust

Have you checked the fluid level in the reservoir? My Spyder sat for a long period once and would do the same thing...surging forward upon startup. Someone on here suggested checking the fluid level and it fixed the issue right away.

Purchasing a 2008 GS - Anything I should be aware of?

I own an 08. My only issue as of late is stuttering take offs, running lean, and rough idle at times. A post n the SpyderLovers FB group solved that issue. The throttle body flanges are prone to hardening and cracking over time causing air leaks that in turn cause the issues I described. I...

Rough idle cuts off when hot and backfires

I know this an old post, but I was having the same issues and tried everything you mentioned to remedy it. I came across a post on the SpyderLovers group on Facebook that solved my issue. The throttle body flanges on 08 and 09 models are prone to cracking and this causes rough idling...

08 Spyder GS SM5 misfire/stumble when riding at steady speed

Thanks sir. I should have realized thats where it is considering I removed the evap canister a while back. I did observe the bolt I used to plug the hose was backed out a bit. Snugged that up and started the bike. No rough idle as it had been. Test ride to occur later today. Thank you for...

08 Spyder GS SM5 misfire/stumble when riding at steady speed

Yes sir, I will definitely let you know. Have you had any issues with the Gear Position Sensor on your GS? I am hoping this is the culprit and remove and replace fixes it. Thanks for replying...I know its an older post.
