• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What Rear Axle Nut Wrench are you using?

Shallow socket off Amazon and just a cheap import wrench from Northern Tool. Don't overthink it - you'll only use it a few times and it's plenty strong enough even if it looks like crap.

Who's signed up for Spyders in the Ozarks - 2023?

I counted 210 Spyders/Rykers at the BBQ. Should be more than that tonight. Weather has been gorgeous!

Who's signed up for Spyders in the Ozarks - 2023?

We're headed out from Texas tomorrow morning for a leisurely 3-day cruise through Arkansas on the way to Springfield. Maybe we'll see some of you on the way! We'll be easy to find on our one of a million other Petrol Blue RT Ltd lol. I decided to give me wife a break and put back on the OEM...

Is there an Accessory Left Mirror Extension for Passenger use?

I put these on the upper outside edges of my mirrors and they seem to work pretty good. Would also recommend the mirror lock things to reduce the mirror vibration. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0874K6859/ https://www.lamonstergarage.com/lamonster-can-am-spyder-mirror-locks/

A question - does your pillion feel crowded by the riders backrest?

Neither me or my wife have issues with the backrest when riding in back. I'm the larger of the 2 at 190lb and 5'9".

Replacing rear rotor, anything to look out for?

I had used a pneumatic impact on mine...took them right off. I had started with a ratchet and said to heck with that!

    Rear tire installed.

    Rear tire installed.

Hmm I might need to look into this tire. I recently put a Vredestrian in the rear and I'm not getting enough traction. Running 19 psi I need to try 17 and see if it helps. If that doesn't do the trick I'm gonna pull it and try something else. Keep in mind pretty much everything on my spyder...

The BRP dealer network screw job.

That didn't stop me from balancing my rear tire indoors though this last weekend! :ohyea:

Old Harley Rider considering a Spyder - load limit concerns?

You'll be fine but will probably want to upgrade the rear shock...which is a pain to replace since you need to take off all the side plastic. You'll probably want to replace the front ones as well as put a new sway bar on it. Unless you just like crotch rockets there should be plenty of power...

Rear axle doesn't/can't have a cotter pin - anyone else?

When removing my rear wheel yesterday I noticed it didn't have a cotter pin on the rear axle. This is a 23 RTL. When I got the axle off I looked closer and noticed the axle only had 1 hole drilled in it and not 2 like you would normally have to insert a cotter pin. Anybody else seen/heard of...

Are these torque specs for rear axle, rotor, & calipers correct?

LOL I did exactly this earlier today. Started with a 18" breaker bar and said screw this. Broke out the 1/2" pneumatic impact and took those 5 rotor bolts off in a few seconds.

So that happened. Passed out from the heat.

When new, even a lot of cars tend to wander - especially on grooved concrete. It takes tires 300-400 miles or so to break in. Having said that, I got rid of all wandering after installing a sway bar and car tires. How many miles did you get put on your Spyder so far?

So that happened. Passed out from the heat.

Oh wow hope you're ok. Oddly enough I've been in the Texas heat all day in my garage removing my rear tire as well and replacing the rear shock. Tire is out getting put on now...doubt I'll put it back on until it cools off some tonight or the morning.
