• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Dealer Tire Blues - now the belt's too tight! Any opinions??

First of all, thanks to all who offered input on my problem. I appreciated the help. After additional investigation on the web and consultation with some other riders, I decided to return the bike to my original dealer and have him restore it to BRP specs. I told them I was frustrated but...

Spyder Dealer Tire Blues - now the belt's too tight! Any opinions??

This story is about two Can-Am dealers who objected to mounting a General Altimax car tire on the back of a 2022 RTL Sea to Sky. One dealer did it anyway, and the other worked on it later. The first returned the bike with a drive belt that wandered continuously from the inner shoulder to the...

Want to get new front tires, not sure what to get? 2021 RTL

I just put Vredrestein 175/55-15 front tires and a General Altimax RT43 215/60-15 on the rear of a 2022 Sea2Sky. My dealer told me the fronts didn’t have enough clearance and would rub a wiring clip on the fenders. In addition, the drive belt was being pushed to the outside of the rear...

A small Safety Mod to our 2022 RTL with a big improvement!

I got one of these turn signal buttons. It arrived quickly and was an easy installation, just as advertised. It’s February in Wisconsin, so it’ll be a while before the button gets road tested, but it feels good in the garage. My guess is a lot of people will think this is a worthwhile upgrade.

Where to align lift on a 2022 RTL?

Lift placement I have used an old Sears lift on both F-3s and RTs with no problems. The center of balance shifts depending on the model and how cargo is loaded. I make a guess initially and pump the hydraulics until the bike starts to come off the floor. If the front wheels lift before the...

Outside Air Temperature Sensor reads high - Why? Any fixes?

The atmospheric temperature readout on my 2022 Sea to Sky typically reads 8 to 10 degrees warmer than it should. I’m comparing to another Spyder, my Apple watch, business marqués, and AccuWeather. Anybody else notice this? Any solution?

Gasoline question - will Regular harm the Spyder?

Fwiw I’m riding 8,000 - 12,000 miles a year in Wisconsin, mostly two up. I started on a 2009 RT, which morphed into a 2017 F-3, which was replaced in 2020 by an RTL. NONE of those bikes ever had anything in the tank but regular gasoline, and none of them had any performance problems at all...

Which Vredestein - Quatrac or Quatrac 5?

Thanks for the feedback. Now I can relax for the rest of the winter.

Which Vredestein - Quatrac or Quatrac 5?

I could use a little clarification. I ordered a set of Vredestein Quatrac tires from Tire Rack, but maybe I made the wrong call. The tread patterns on the Quatrac and Quatrac 5 are very different. Which one is the right one?

Front tire clearance - will 165/60R15's fit?

Thanks for the help with the tire clearance question. I ordered Vredesteins from Tire Rack this morning. They said they’d send them in a couple weeks when they were in stock again. Regarding where to get them mounted in Wisconsin, Ecklund Motorsports in Appleton will do it if you bring them...

Front tire clearance - will 165/60R15's fit?

My old 2017 F-3 ran Federal Formoza AZ01 165/55r15 tires on the front, and I liked them a lot. I replaced that bike with a 2020 RT-LTD that is soon to need new front rubber too, but I can't find the Formozas anywhere. Does anybody have a source? I DO have a source for Continental...

2020 RTL Removing Brake Fluid Reservoir

I used a hemostat the first time to remove the short black piece of tubing that locks the reservoir in place. Then I dropped the little piece into the guts of the machine where it’ll never be seen again. No loss. I cut a 6” piece of 1/4” plastic tubing and pinched the end with a pliers to make...

    Tire Longevity- Brand/ Mileage

I put 25,000 miles on an Altimax mounted on my 2017 F-3L and it looked barely worn. The bike was replaced with a 2020 RTL in the fall. Just for something to do this winter I’m wondering about the tires. The F-3 ran a 215/60-15 which was taller but narrower than the OEM tire. I’m curious about...

Will the General Altimax RT43 225/60-15 even fit on a 2020 RTL?

    #4 Brake rod on #5 F3 setting ?

You can use the existing rod. There is sufficient space on either end for an additional hole. One hole will lower the pedal about an inch. It work Ed fine on a 17 LTD and a 15 S. The 17 was in no. 5 position. The 15 was in no. 4.
