• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First time Post - 1330 Spyder Reliability

Seems like they're pretty reliable . . . except mine. My 2014 RT with about 32k miles has been towed to the dealer 3 times; a bad crankshaft position sensor, a bad fuel pump and a bad parking brake switch. It's at the dealer now due to mice gnawing the wiring, which the computer interpreted as...

    cb radio wiring

I have the J & M radio mounted on the handlebar, now I have to run the cabling. There's an unused rocker switch covered by what looks like a plastic tab. Does that just pop off? If so I can run the antenna and power cable through there. Thanks in advance for any tips. Jake

    J & M cb - anyone?

Has anyone installed the J & M handlebar mounted cb radio I see on the Sierra Electronics website (www.sierra-mc.com)? And if so, are you happy with it? The stick antenna work OK? Is there clearance to get to the Reverse button? Any mini review appreciated.

    RTl CB question

I'm with you, Easyrider, but Cobra must have a reason to base their instruction to use power-save mode. I'll get back on here when I hear from them.

    RTl CB question

RT CB Sierra Electronics has a package for about $200 that includes a Cobra hand-held CB, a CB mounting bracket and a headset with a PTT button. The CB can be either direct powered or use rechargeable batteries, which is what I'm starting with. To mount it on the handlebar I bought Lamonster's...

    Front tires

front tires Blueknight, you're right on. In the 'Requirements' paragraph of the Act appears the following: Warrantors cannot require that only branded parts be used with the product in order to retain the warranty.[7] This is commonly referred to as the "tie-in sales" provisions,[8] and is...

    Front tires

Has anyone checked to see if installing tires that differ from the OEM size and brand while the trike is under warranty will give Can Am the opportunity to void the original or extended warranties? Yes, I know tires are consumables so they aren't covered under the Can Am warranty, but when...

    jacking point

OK, all you who have replaced your front tires yourself, I'd like your advice. My 2014 RT-SE6 has 23,000 on my Kenda fronts, so it's time to replace them. The plan is to take the old wheels and tires into my local tire dealer where he'll remove the old and install the new (going with Khumo...

    Updates for 2018...

2018 updates Hey, that's a good list; my favorites are the turn signal dash indicators and the mushy switches. Here's two more: fix the speedometer discrepancy and add 'Distance to Empty' to the screen. I've seen multiple posts about the speedometer being off by about 2 mph, per the GPS...

    New helmets and comm units

Well ,my experience with Nolan was less than satisfactory. The drop-down sun visor mechanism on my N43 failed in the 2nd year, and later the forehead padding dropped out of the liner and wouldn't remain in place. It's a $400 helmet! I expected better quality so I replaced it with a Scorpion...

    Damn brakes

Everyone seems to observe that Spyder brakes tend to squeal, and I've come to believe that CanAm designed it that way. I just replaced the original brake pads all around with EBC's HH fully sintered pads on my '14 RT with 18000 miles, and wouldn't you know that on the first full day of riding...
