• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Could disconnecting the positive terminal of the battery for a few days cause any problems?

I've always been taught that the positive terminal needs to stay on the longest time (longer than the negative) in any scenario. I am curious though as to why you would need to diconnect the positive only?

Any Suggestions for battery terminal post extenders?

In the process of replacing the battery on my 2014 Can-Am Spyder RT SE6 . Looking at something like this battery post extender to make it easier to jump-start the bike. Seems I always have problems securely attaching the clamps onto the -/+ battery posts. Does anyone have any experience with...

Bike has been on a trickle charger/battery maintainer all winter long. Been ridden twice in the past few weeks. USER NAMES/HANDLES - What does yours mean? Where did it come from?

Nice to see some older "tech"/"propeler" heads in the group. I started in IT in the late 70s and made a career out of it, but I'm now happily retired and enjoying my time spent riding. :-)

USER NAMES/HANDLES - What does yours mean? Where did it come from?

My last name starts with "Ps". Like almost every word that starts with "Ps", it is of Greek origin - "Psi" (Ψ) in the Greek alphabet. The "P" is silent - not pronounced. Similar to Psychology, Psychic, etc. Colleagues, a long time ago, coined my "SilentP" name, also because I am a man of (very)...

Any thoughts about running Car Tires On The Rear?

I have the General Altimax RT45 225/60R15. I bought different stock size because the lager size aligned my on-board speedometer with the (actual speed) GPS system. Prior, the bike's speedometer was always a bit faster than the real speed - the /60R profile fixed that.

Should I get a 2014 now, or wait and get a newer model? Any 'gotta have' features?

I was fortunate enough to run across a forum member who lives in the area and he disabled my DESS. As you stated, I am not able to start the bike using the non-chipped (cheap) keys.
