• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Disc lock??

It has been awhile since I looked into these, but I seem to recall that a lot motorcycle disc locks have two added features: 1. An Alarm that sounds if the bike is disturbed or attempted to roll, thwarting thieves and also preventing you from riding away with it engaged. Sensitivities of the...

shop time to replace rear tire on rtl

I got charged 1.5 hrs at $88/hr, plus they did a BUDS diagnostic just to check things out and look for any software/firmware upgrades. I considered that pretty reasonable. I brought in my own tire with me.

Should I worry about Spyder Battery discharge when using USB to charge phone?

I'm took the easy way out. I bought an emergency cellphone charger battery that can charge my iphone up to three times. I put it in the small Hopnel tank bag I have that fits over the glove box. My iphone is on a center-mount X-grip. If my phone starts running low, I just run the charging...

    Passenger Detection Switch

I think you are thinking of the "Unwanted" Passenger Detection switch, otherwise known as the "Nag me one more time about my riding and you'll see what happens" switch.

    Harley-Davidson CEO Resigns

I rode HD Fat Boy models for many years when I was younger and loved them. I now ride a Spyder and love it. However, I did have the opportunity to ride a HD Tri Glide Ultra Classic about a year after getting my Spyder and absolutely hated it. It felt like one of the rear wheels was going to...

Do you Push or Pull thru turns?

I have put about 9K miles on my 2017 RTS. Today I was riding solo on a deserted twisty road today and decided to experiment a little. In the past I noticed that I would "Pull" thru turns....pull harder on the left side handlebar and slightly push on the right side handlebar for a left twisty...

    BRP E-mail

In the past I have used the "Contact Form" for questions. You usually get an email back from them fairly quickly. Response times do vary though. https://can-am.brp.com/on-road/form/contact-us.html

    Here's some New Kenda Tires!?!

I had my Kanine rear tire installed today also. I rode about 70 miles home on it. Part of the trip was up to 85mph, and also went down some twisty roads at much lower speeds. I swear it rides waaaaaay smoother than before, but could just be my imagination.

    $200 for an oil change?

I don't see anyone saying that. :dontknow: I see Gwolf, me, and others saying that actually riding the Spyder spins the transmission gears, which contain the same oil that you change when you do an oil change. Spinning the transmission helps to temporarily suspend particles so that they can...

    $200 for an oil change?

I also drove mine around prior to me doing the oil change rather than just letting it idle to warm up. Folks told me that the oil in the engine crankcase doesn't know the difference, but it gets the "stuff" in the transmission side suspended so it will flow out easier. Plus, it was a nice day...

    2020 RT first impressions

:agree: First off, I am not a Can Am "basher".....I love my 2017 RTS and it has been relatively trouble-free well worth the purchase price...miles of smiles. BUT....it is at the high-end luxury portion of the market. What would Porsche, Bentley, or Ferrari have done if they had spotted a...

    2020 RT first impressions

I wonder how many dealers will be able to do the retrofit correctly the first time.... given the new construction of the bike? Also, if you read the comments below that YouTube video, you will see the BRP Rep. response, which is pretty interesting to me.

    Here's some New Kenda Tires!?!

I'm waiting for the weather to make the ride to get my rear Kanine installed. Can I ask what inflation pressure you used for the rear? Thanks, Hank

    Using ramps for oil changes

Ditto. I just did mine and it worked fine with the front wheels backed up onto ramps. I put a small scissor jack at a safe place I found closer to the rear just to level it out a few inches (not anywhere close to completely level), but I doubt it was necessary. One day I will tell the story...

    SOB Thieves!

Stealing someone's Gremlin Bell off of their bike has to invoke the worst Karma I could possibly imagine on the thief. :yikes:
