• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    RT Seat replacement

I have a BRP Comfort Seat for sale if you are interested. It's similar to the stock seat, but gives the rider 2" more leg room. I sold my Spyder to my father in law and he wanted the stock seat. No visible wear.

    Cruise control switch malfunction??

I know this is an "older" thread... but my 2013 RT cruise control is not working either. Hasn't worked from day 1. I have been able to set the cruise one time only. I see the green SET come up, then it jumps to OFF (even with the switch still on). Have not reported this to the dealer.

Spyder Test rides at Thunder in the Valley - oops

Visited the BRP booth at Johnstown a few weeks ago... saw some newcomers taking test rides. I must have left before all the excitement. This is one hot ride! :roflblack:

    Headlight Burned Out

Everything BRP is expensive... it's not reserved for Can Am Spyders.

    Starting w/out the "MODE" button?

Is there anyway around having to press the mode button when starting? I mean, couldn't they program it so that this ceases after 100 times? This is the most asinine thing I've ever seen.:banghead:

Your Spyder - What Year, Model, Miles, Issues... ??

2013 RT SE5 Blue, 1800 miles. I've seen the occasional stall - mostly right after starting. Will occasionally exhibit long hesitation between shifts. I now have an occasional "shimmy" in the handlebars around 50 mph. All-in-all, pretty good so far. I've seen 28-40 mpg... odd thing is the 28...

    Still trying to get comfortable

I wouldn't change anything until you've ridden it some more. I now have 1300 miles on my 2013 RT and everything is smoother. Here is what I have noticed: 1. You can grip the bars too tight (good advice from this forum for me) 2. The electronic power steering is tight - I found myself...

    Taking a trip.

Look at the Ski-Doo bags for their sleds (or other brands too)... lots of saddlebag options that are designed to rest over a seat or rear of the tunnel.. would be about the same size.

    Riding Jackets in the Summer

If it gets hot enough to wear a wet baby diaper, I'm not riding. Same thing on a snowmobile when it gets below -20* F... when you can hear your helmet cracking as it contracts from the cold, it's time to stop riding. Takes all the fun out of it.

    Outdoor temp gage

Thanks. I plan on taking it down for the 600-1000 mile service... I'll have them look at it then.

    Outdoor temp gage

Sorry to resurect an old thread... but my 2013 RT ambient temperature is way off all of the time. It reads a minimum of 10 degrees to high. Riding at noon today, the temp is 78*. Spyder reads 109 after being parked in the shade, dropped to 100 at 50 mph down the road. It's off this far when...

    PWM's 2012 RT-S SE5

Picked up the same one 2 weeks ago in the 2013 RT variation... You'll be right at home on this. The steering is a bit twitchy at speed, but you'll get used to it. Took me longer to get used to the twist throttle :roflblack:

    A Math challenge

You really cannot do this "on paper"... you literally have to do it. We squeezed 5 snowmobiles onto a 4-place (enclosed) trailer. Given your dimensions, you should be able to pull on one, move the rear over to one side and then back the other on (moving the rear over to the other side). You...

    Handlebar Riser?

I had the dealer install the comfort seat before it left the building... I would think the opposite... much easer (with all my other toys) to raise the bars than lower the seat. My experience is that they build most toys for men 5'8"-5'10". So guys like me typically have to modify to be...

    Handlebar Riser?

They can keep 'em.... along with the driver foot boards... The margin on those things has got to be 10x the cost.
