• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Travel Trailer Camping in Canada

Plan Ahead Some suggestions from one who RV'ed full time across the USA & Canada for 16 years . . . During the summer months, until Labor Day. 1. Make reservations ahead of time, or at least while traveling that day. Call by noon. 2. If you have no reservations, plan to be off the road by 3PM...

    Many Bulgaries at Spyderfest!

Park at front door While it may be difficult at Spyderfest, As a general rule, I often ask to park under the front portico at the main entrance when I can't park directly outside my door. I have never been turned down. Something to consider.

    Looking for HELP!!!!!

Consider ryding Route 66 From Chicago to Santa Monica Pier Consider touring along historic route 66. There are maps and tour books available to help you discover many old pieces of the road that still exist. Allow 14 days to go from Chicago to the Santa Monica Pier--There is so much to see. Add...

    Seat belt!

Airbag My last bike was a Honda GW w/Airbag. I wouldn't mind seeing that as an option on the Spyder. The only problem you would face if it went off is the humiliation. You see, it blows straight up like a huge elephant butt--crack and all. If it goes off, you literally shove your head and body...

    Question: re intercom

Could Mute be on? I would check the muting function. When you or passenger listen to music, it can be muted by holding the down volume switch for a couple seconds. That said . . . The SAME thing is true of the passenger intercom volume. If the passenger holds down the volume control too long...

    Be careful

I like the shoulda, coulda, woulda I'm glad you are running this scenario over in your head to evaluate what happened. In our house, we discussed in detail what to do in case of a fire, but NEVER about an intruder. Two weeks ago, for the first time, my burglar alarm went off about 3AM. Within...

Ridiculous cost for a Spyder tag in Alabama

Move to Florida Annual renewal mtcyl tag: $10 New plate, $28. No state income tax. Come on down to central Florida. For what you Northeasters pay in taxes, you could almost spend a day in our over-priced theme parks. ;)

    Ipod

Pam. I think I wasn't clear. Itunes will play (or convert) almost any music format. I prefer MP3 (rather than Apple's AAC) because it it the industry standard. Since iTunes is the built-in App, I haven't bothered with any others. George

    Ipod

Love my iPod Touch Tom is right on. You should have no problem as long as your music files are stored and playable in iTunes. I keep about 1500 upbeat "highway" tunes on mine in one big playlist. I always keep my ipod touch in Shuffle mode, Velcro it in the trunk, and forget about it. Every...

How far should I trust a rear tire?

Replacing tires at the Wear Bar is TOO LATE If you ride your Spyder in a rainy (or snowy) climate, running your tires to the wear-bar is too late. So says Consumer Reports after running a series of hydroplaning tire tests. The typical new tire has 10/32 of tread with wear-bars at 2/32. CR...

    This has happened three times

As a new owner, the most common question I have been getting sounds like one long word . . . "How-da-ya-like-dat?" But, "What does one of those cost" is a close second. I give them MSRP and tell them they can often get a good buy if they pick up one a few years old.

Hopefully this hurts the 49's and the NFL

This just about sums it up First time I've followed an off topic thread like this. Four pages of often angry people expressing their opinion about someone else who dared to do the same. This Tweet seems to sum it up . . .

What Insurance Coverages Do You have!

Redundant Coverage? Depending on the state where your Spyder is garaged, you might also check the need for uninsured/underinsured coverage. Often this coverage ONLY covers medical expenses. If you already have “no fault” personal medical coverage, AND/OR a good medical plan (Medicare) you might...

    no such thing

Try Sealskinz Sealskinz thermal and waterproof gloves have worked best for me when riding. They are thin enough to be quite flexible and have a super grabbing surface on wet days. I only use them in the rain and have worn them comfortably from cold and rainy Alaska to warm and steamy Florida.

Jacket or No Jacket in Hot Weather - Which is Cooler?

Ice Anyone When we were about to cross the Mojave Desert on a group ride, our experienced tour leader warned all “east coasters” about the dangers of riding just in T-shirts out west. While we were wetting down our shirts and neck bandannas, he came out of the “last-chance” store dressed in a...
