• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Trouble With Temp on RT

The fans were NOT running when I shutdown and the temperature is at mid gauge where it always has been once the engine is at running temperature. Thanks for the tip.

    Trouble With Temp on RT

It it was normal oil/filter service and brake pad change, two weeks later they replaced the cam shaft sensor. The believes it to be air in the system and provided me with some bleeding instructions, so will try that. Not overly concerned as heat dissapates immediately upon riding, if it didn’t...

    Trouble With Temp on RT

I would accept this if others reported the same issue, however, I can’t find anyone else reporting the same problem. Hasn’t happened in the two year I have owned the bike and never had it with my first Spyder either.

    Trouble With Temp on RT

Coolant level is fine. I just had the bike serviced and it was returned a couple weeks later to replace a faulty cam shaft sensor that was throwing a code. I have owned the bike for two years and never an issue. I have done lots of reading and have not encountered ANYONE else that has had...

    Trouble With Temp on RT

3 times in the past two days, when we stop for less than 5 minutes after riding for awhile, then restart the bike, the temperature gauge spikes to the top, the red high temperature indicator light comes on and the fans start up. After starting to ride again for less than a minute, the gauge...

    Code P0340

I was also in BEST warranty and paid the $50, but they also replaced the seat as it was tearing for the second time at the pointy part where it meets the glove box. Another poor design.

    Code P0340

Just a follow-up. The cam sensor was replaced. The Service manager indicated that he has seen this several times and 90% of the time they find oil in the sensor connection which shorts across the terminals and causes the Code. While it can be replaced yourself, I believe it needs to be hooked...

    Code P0340

Thanks, I have a 2016 RTS. I don’t see that specific fuse number. What is the fuse description for that F18 fuse?

    Code P0340

Hello All Need some help! Got a Code P0340 and a limp home mode today. Fortunately was within a few miles of home. Looked up on Spyder Codes and it indicates it is a Crankshaft Position sensor. The dealer however indicates that Code is a camshaft position sensor. i have gone through all...

    piston bores

Does anyone know if the piston bores are sleeved on the 1330 and 998 ? If so what is the sleeve material as well as the piston rings. Are any of the friction components within the engine aluminum?

Brake Pad badly worn on one Pad only

I have had a problem with my left side front wheel on my 2016 RT Limited since it was new. The brakes sounded like there was intermittent rubbing/ grinding every rotation. Had it back to dealer and they indicated there were no issues. Got new pads and a rotor as the noise was getting louder...

    Yet another tire question

I am very aware of the Kenda tire being crap. That is why they have all been removed from both of my Spyders. What I posted was that I purchased directional car tires for my Spyder, Hankook's that have different dimensions than the OEM (and the same size as the original question that was...

    Yet another tire question

So so you are saying that water handling, braking performance, etc. is not better with a directional tire. You are saying that engineers when designing tires directionally for better water clearance is all a bunch of nonsense and that most informational about this topic is nonsense. just...

    Yet another tire question

My buddy owns a tire store and we put Hankook Ventus V4 175/55r15 on the front of my 2016 RT and no issues with clearance or with nanny. You should make sure that if you buy a different size that it is a directional tire, as the siping is important for water clearance. This tire provides a...
