• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Dead S2S - won't start after lay-up! Any ideas?

Got my Spyder back today. Here is the verdict. One of the fuses that goes to the ECM was blown. They believe that maybe the existing firmware did it somehow. I don't know. They also found a few fuses weren't seated quite all the way in. So, new battery, new firmware, all seems good. All...

    Dead S2S - won't start after lay-up! Any ideas?

You are probably right, but I was thinking it might be conceivable that the charging system may not be enough to overcome the drain by a leaky amp or something like that. If I were to tell them in the shop, I wanted to make sure, I had all the facts. But you are probably correct about it...

    Dead S2S - won't start after lay-up! Any ideas?

Further update if anyone is interested: After about a week, the dealer with the help of BRP found there was an ECM fuse that was blown. Since it was still working, sort of, maybe there is more than one fuse feeding the ECM. Not sure about that. Replaced fuse, all the codes and clicking gone...

    Dead S2S - won't start after lay-up! Any ideas?

Update; Dealer loaded new firmware due to many codes. Didn't fix it. Not sure if the initial problem is gone, but was told that it still shuts off when started at about 1200 RPM. I had that issue also, figured it was related to the first issue when turning on the key. They will continue...

    Dead S2S - won't start after lay-up! Any ideas?

Thanks admin for improving my subject line. It needed it. My battery is out of warranty. I was told 6 months. Expired in March. I'll would be happy to buy a new battery if I can get it on the road. Taking it to the dealer tomorrow morning. Hope it is something simple and not need parts I...

    Dead S2S - won't start after lay-up! Any ideas?

This Spring, I rode the S2S for about 500 miles or so, then it got cold, so I parked it. Later I moved it into my garage, put it in neutral and moved it around by hand, shut it off. Yesterday, I tried to start it up, and it starts to make a noise like a solenoid to a starter with a bad...

F3T Baker Hand Wings tip - Skip step 4

I just put on Baker hand wings on my Wife's F3T. Had to drill 3 holes per side, but they weren't hard. Came with templates, made it easy. I did have an issue with the instructions. After drilling the bottom 2 holes, the next step was to drill two more holes in the housing. Just to be clear, I...

After advice from couples that ride separate bikes.

After 10's of thousands of miles on bikes and now Spyders, it always worked out best for me to lead and her to follow. She goes her speed and I adjust speed as needed. I do spend a lot of time looking in the rear view mirror, though, but you get used to it. She says it always helped to know...

    Alzheimer's - good news

My Mother died from A. I'm probably prone to get it, so anything related is of interest to me. On a side note as mentioned above... There are doctors that have been looking at existing drugs to combat covid. They have had great results, but of course, they have been cancelled and their info...

Who is a former Goldwing rider?

After my 2nd Goldwing, I switched to a blue ST1300. Loved that bike, but it was pretty hot to drive. My wife had an first year FJR at the time and it was scalding hot. You could burn your hand on the tank at times. I installed a auto cruise control on the ST, that was really nice. Good winter...

    Battery Tender installed

Stupid is as stupid does. I went to install some foam grips and didn't think I needed to take off the handlebar ends. Big mistake. It stretched out the foam too much with the air nozzle, it split. Guess I'll have a spare when I get more of them.... assuming I don't do it again. Tom
