• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Purchased replacement key loses authentication code . . .

The back-up key that was purchased at the dealership, and encoded by them, has twice lost the code. Anyone else have this problem? Is it better to order an encoded key directly from BRP, and is this even possible? Nothing quite like getting ready to ride and seeing that error message. :sour:

Question about the BRP comfort seat

optional seat with backrest . . . I upgraded the seat when I purchased the Spyder new, and I was required by the dealer to purchase both seats. Nothing new to most of you, I'm sure, but I was surprised. Seems a stupid question to ask a potential buyer, "Would you like an extra seat with the...

    Spyder accident in Redford, Michigan

I use an app called Witness on my RAM mounted iPhone while riding. It records video loops continuously and will lock the video when the iPhone G-sensor detects an accident. Works very well. There's probably a similar app for Android. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Tamed the Dragon and survived the Snake!

You're in a really nice area to ride. I stopped often to take pictures to show family and friends, and I did this mostly because I was surprised. I'd not heard beforehand how beautiful that area is. I ride NC and VA mostly, but I'll sometimes ride to MS and beyond by way of northern AL because...

    Squeak in new RT-s

I heard a squeaking noise after picking up the Spyder from the mechanic, and I decided to investigate when I got home. I took off a few panels and discovered that a screw was missing from a panel below the windshield. It was the source of the noise because replacing the screw fixed it. Another...

    New Special Series RT

Congrats, Bryan, on the new Spyder. The backrest was an important upgrade for me, so I added the Utopia seat at the purchase. I love it. I noticed you have a comm system. Which one? Do you like it?

2013 Can-Am Spyder RT Safety Recall - Elevated Temperature in Engine Compartment

Your Spyder runs a lot cooler than mine. Hopefully the changes I plan to make will lower the temperature.

2013 Can-Am Spyder RT Safety Recall - Elevated Temperature in Engine Compartment

What's "BUDS" WasWinger? I normally shift above 5k RPM and cruise at the same because it's what feels right. I'm glad to know that this is within the range suggested by BRP. I'm curious about the higher end and that the tach would indicate a range of 0 to 12. That's really high. Could you really...

2013 Can-Am Spyder RT Safety Recall - Elevated Temperature in Engine Compartment

Thanks, Kenn, for that thorough explanation. I believe that the heat source is coming from the exhaust, given its proximity to the metal plate the footboard and footrest are attached to. That metal plate got extremely hot on a recent ride, and a lot of very hot air was coming out of the...

2013 Can-Am Spyder RT Safety Recall - Elevated Temperature in Engine Compartment

I'm glad that you only had that recall issue to deal with. BRP is lucky to have such a loyal customer in you. Safe riding.

2013 Can-Am Spyder RT Safety Recall - Elevated Temperature in Engine Compartment

Thanks again for that information. You responded to another of my posts with that suggestion, and I described in reply how the heat I'm referring to is not from the radiator opening. I also indicated how the heat is coming from the side and under the footboard and rear footrest. I'm going to...
