• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Yet another heat post@

I have an original year 2008 GS Manual and I like to ride in shorts. Me and jeans in the summer just doesn't work. I found a solution to the problem on the really hot days. In Sept I got a new 2018 Sea Doo GTX 230, a little pricey but has solved the problem. Really hot days I'm on the Ct River...

HowTo: 2008 GS, Removing Rear Tire

This method would have saved me a bunch of time messing with those belt adjustment bolts on previous wheel pulling events. Really is an easier way of doing this. Thanks !!

    2008 GS SE5 issues

I have a 2008 GS manual and the belt used to make a lot of noise. I figured out you need to adjust the belt to have it right in the middle of the pulley, if it rests on the shoulder it makes noise, once adjusted so that it runs with a little space between the belt and the shoulder (maybe 1/16 to...

HowTo: 2008 GS, Removing Rear Tire

Hi Guys, My original year 2008 Spyder has 34K miles on now (bought Nov 2008). I have removed the rear tire multiple times and on the re-install the adjusting of the belt is always a little pain. I just removed my rear tire again (having the 3rd tire put on and changing all the bearings) I...

2008 GS Manual Upgrading to 2017 F3T Auto, Thoughts Please

My local dealer in Waterbury, Ct told me they would get me out on a F3T so hopefully in the next week or so I will test drive one. If I like it I will be putting my 2008 GS up for sale and then find an F3T at a good price. It does seem like the 0-60 time will be a little slower on the bigger F3...

2008 GS Manual Upgrading to 2017 F3T Auto, Thoughts Please

The heat is an issue on my 2008 GS. I ride with shorts a lot and my legs can get close to being burnt on really hot days. The high revving with the 5 speed (80 mph is like 6k rpm) would be really nice to slow the engine down on the highway with 6 gears. How is the power / acceleration on the...

Belt issue, 2008 GS Manual (Silver)

Belt Issue Fixed Hi Guys, checking back in now. I thought I was going to be able to fix the bearing in the rear pulley myself but ran into issues. When I dead blow'd hammered out the bad bearing all the ball bearings went flying. I could not get the outside bearing race out of the pulley hub...

Belt issue, 2008 GS Manual (Silver)

Yes, as soon as I got the tire off I could clearly see where the issue was. My friend has the same bike (2008, manual, Yellow) with like 45k miles and he has not changed any bearings on his yet. He did have a bearing in the engine for the front pulley go bad and that cost him like 2k for the...

Belt issue, 2008 GS Manual (Silver)

Found Issue Trying to Keep the Belt Aligned on the Rear Pulley I found the issue why I cant get the belt to stay on the rear pulley correctly. As soon as I pulled the rear axil and had the rear tire off the bike it was clear the bearing in the actual Pulley was bad. My dealer had the new...

Belt issue, 2008 GS Manual (Silver)

I ride with 3 guys with these bikes, 2 have that "Sports Fender" and the other replaced his fender brackets and got those additional support brackets. I like that look better than the sport fender but it costs a lot more so will most likely go with what you have when they go again. I am toying...

Belt issue, 2008 GS Manual (Silver)

I do not have a belt tensioner on my 2008 w/ 32k miles. I have read about them that it helps with the vibration but never went that route. I know the vibration causes the rear fender brackets to fail. I have actually had this happen and had them welded then did some body work on them and...
