• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I made a new home for the RTL. My overcrowded workshop where I used to park my two wheeler Royal Enfield was cleared and tidied and now is a cosy home for the coming winter (southern hemisphere), not that I don't stop riding. -

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Today I "polished" my RTL. The hassle is that the only colour I could get was black, and mostly matte black at that! So I could not use my usual polish and had to find something to use on glossy and matte plastic, there is not even any chrome to polish. I ended up with a combination of Mother's...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

That's a little cool. Me, I'm not riding because it is 41 degrees C. Too hot to ryde so I fitted a holder for the GPS and a thingy that has a 12v outlet, 2 USBs and a voltmeter. Also I made a turn signal switch. Now too hot to stay outside so I am taking it easy .

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Today it is 32 degrees. I am quite comfortable as it is Celsius. I took seven minutes to remove the dumb piece of plastic from the rear trunk and install the light that should have been there in the first place. Glory be to Australian Design Rules.

It Started off as a Nice Summer Day

Ah, the great Aussie weather. A few years ago I was hit by a hailstorm out on the highway. It hurt. My helmet saved my head but my arms were badly bruised through my Cordura jacket. To add insult to injury straight after that I was passing a stock truck add copped a load off fresh cattle manure...

What Communication devices do you use between rider/pillion & other riders in your group?

We use a cheap Chinese set in our M2R Navigator helmets. We speak to each other clearly and make and receive phone calls. The RTL does its own thing without talking to us. When we want to use GPS we clip a phone to the handlebars and use that. Old habits.

Pillion Passenger can't reach the hand grips - any ideas?

We have now fitted armrests, and the dragon lady loves them. We will have to take turns on the front seat. We have also added some decoration in the form of Compass Roses and a Royal Enfield Club sticker to confuse people. :ohyea: -

Pillion Passenger can't reach the hand grips - any ideas?

We have just ordered armrests and we hope to have them sometime next month. Meanwhile Kate has found a more comfortable seat.

Should there be a bolt thru these Empty holes?

Thanks for the info, I will get some bolts from my workshop and fit them properly. I have a large supply of bits as my previous bikes were Royal Enfields, and the saying is 'making riders into mechanics since 1901'. :joke:

Should there be a bolt thru these Empty holes?

Hi All. On my new 2023 RT Ltd, I crawled underneath by the back wheel and above the muffler I saw a bracket with holes that line up with a panel. I checked the other side and there was a similar bracket with empty holes. Should there be a bolt through these holes? :dontknow: -

Pillion Passenger can't reach the hand grips - any ideas?

Thank you for the insights. In common with every bike I have owned, if I did not put it together myself I assume something was not done right and I check as much as I can. Mechanical stuff is OK but I can't change into an electron and hunt down any glitches. I have not found any loose fittings...

Pillion Passenger can't reach the hand grips - any ideas?

We bought our 2023 RT Ltd. quite quickly. The dealer had it in the warehouse in a box. We said cash and my wife Kate started haggling. A few days later we picked it up at a price we could afford. We are retired and our funds are limited. Anyway, we now have a vehicle that lets me keep riding...

Pillion Passenger can't reach the hand grips - any ideas?

Thank you to everyone. The boss says she will practice more before deciding on armrests. It is true that Spyder shops are rare down here. There is one dealer in the whole of South Australia, a state bigger than many countries. On the up side is that we have lots of roads and great scenery.

Pillion Passenger can't reach the hand grips - any ideas?

Perhaps someone can advise me. I picked up my RT Ltd six days ago and I am gradually unlearning 50 years on solos and sidecars. My problem is my tiny wife can ride it OK, but when she is in the passenger seat, she can't reach the hand holds. I have had to raise the footrests to the top notch...
