• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Another 2014 CB problem. HELP!

Since the dealer added a ground wire from the CB mounting plate to the ground at the gas tank, at my request, the squeal when trying to transmit has been resolved. Before this the CB would work if only the driver J&M headset helmet was used alone. If the passenger's J&M headset helmet was...

changing from two wheels to three

My biggest adjustment between two wheels ( still ride my ST1300 and Goldwing) to three wheels (2014 Spyder RT-S) was changing from the delayed apex technique on the 2 wheels to turning sooner on the Spyder. I could use the delayed apex with the Spyder, but I had to use more force to turn and...

    headlight shutter

Here's an update on my "shutter problems". The dealer replaced the whole headlight assembly. The warranty claim had been submitted to BRP when I picked the Spyder up on Friday. The dealer and I expect BRP to pay it. When I got the Spyder home , I park close to the closed garage door and worked...

CONSENSUS HERE WILL MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

Even though I took a test ride ( following the salesman on another Spyder) and had test ridden a couple Spyders back in 2010 ,and another one from another dealer a few weeks before, my dealer's policy was that you had to practice on your new Spyder in a large parking lot next to their facility...

    headlight shutter

I am told some high end cars have headlight shutters. Definitely not " mainstream".

    headlight shutter

On my 2014 RT-S SM6, the left "high beam" went out last Sunday. Since the "low beam" worked, and I did not know or remember anything about a shutter system in the headlights, I thought the high beam filament was burnt out. This seemed to be confirmed by the fact the owner's manual says a H4 bulb...

    Cruise Control -RT-S

This was a problem for me when I started riding with the Spyder's cruise control. I was use to my Gold Wing's cruise which maintains the throttle position even if you released your hand. Like said above , fly-by-wire vs cable operated.

    Left Side Bag Release

In the picture above, I believe Bob did as I did and removed the three short screws from the black lower piece that includes the "mud flap" to get extra room to the adjuster. Otherwise I could not quite get my fingers around the adjusted.

Feed back into helmet with GPS installed when key CB mike

Sounds like the squeal I have been having when trying to transmit on the OEM CB when both passenger and rider helmets are connected to the system/bike. I am using J&M headsets. After the technician grounded the CB mounting plate to the bike, there was no squeal with a test with using two BRP...

    Intercom - CB kit

The factory CB is set up for headsets only. What brand headset are you using? Do you ride with a passenger with their own headset? I ask because I have J&M headsets and get a squeal when transmitting if both headsets are connected. With just one headset connected , no squeal. The dealer added a...

    Who uses a Non-BRP headset with a 2014 CB?

CB update II The dealer has replaced the antennae kit, wiring harness, and CB module. Still have the squeal when both headsets connected. With only one headset connected, no squeal and the CB works fine. A friend checked the SWR of the antennae. IT was high at 1.8 to 1.9 and the CB registered 1...

How do I access the cable adjusters for the side bags? My cables have stretched!

The saddlebag cable adjusters are just above the tail lights and under the rear trunk panel. Open the rear trunk and saddle bag lids. The rear trunk panel is a bike colored U shaped panel that runs across the back edge of the trunk and down each side to the top rear of each saddlebag. 4 screws...

    Who uses a Non-BRP headset with a 2014 CB?

I have two new J&M Performance headsets plus and older J&M headset in a third helmet that all produce a squeal in the factory CB on my 2014 RT-S when both rider and passenger helmets are connected. The dealer has changed out the CB module, antennae kit, and the Entertainment Harness without...

    CB Radio Issues

Squeals only when either PTT pressed. The external speakers and headsets are on when using the FM radio. CB transmissions only come through the headsets. You can adjust the volume of the received transmissions in the audio screen separate from the radio. If the headsets are not plugged into the...

    CB Radio Issues

I have tried with and without heads in the helmets. Either way I get a squeal whenever the rider and passenger headsets are connected at the same time to the CB. With out heads in the helmets, no squeal if only one headset connect whether, her rider or passenger. :sour:
