• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Do raccoons like Spyders?

Ouch!! Well, based upon my experience as an insurance adjuster, your renter's insurance will not cover the loss. Homeowners (including renters) policies specifically exclude motorized land vehicles unless they are used for the maintenance of your property. Unfortunately, the Spyder does not...

The longest distance between 2 points

My office is exactly 10 miles from my house in the morning. Funny thing, when I go home after work it often stretches to 50 miles! Nothing like missing a turn or two to wind down after a day of work!

Anyone Ride Year Round in Northern Climates?

The Joy of Living in So. Cal. Living in sunny So. Cal. means temperatures rarely dip below freezing so 12 mo. riding is not an issue. Back in my Midwest days I lived in Indy and would ride anytime the roads were free of snow and Ice. I used my snowmobile suit for riding with a balaclava and...

    Book on Safety

Ignorance, Immortality or Comfort? Dan, Glad to see you being "productive" in your retirement! ;) My thoughts are based purely on my observations while riding for the past 35 years. I see more young riders (typically the crotch rocket variety) wearing inappropriate footwear than older...

    Aftermarket Seat

Check Ultimate's 14 Day Trial Period I live on the opposite coast but thought i'd offer my 2 cents worth. Ultimate will allow you 14 days (from the day you receive the seat) to try it out. If you don't like it, return it! Installation is very easy and there is a post on this site with an...

    2013 vs 2014

Patience is a Virtue...and Could Save You $$$ I purchased my 2012 RT Limited in February after the 2013's were already in the showrooms and saved $6,000 from the sticker price. The longer you wait after the 2014's are out, the better the deal you will likely get on a 2013 model. The biggest...

    Spyder Pricing and possible competiton

Why Buy An Unproven Product? Assuming for a moment that there will factory competitors on the market in the near future, why would you buy one? Let's see, you will be dealing with new technology which could translate into reliability issues (just ask BRP!). Of course when you are out on the...

    FLAT TIRE AT 60MPH

Rode Through the Sonora Pass to SITR I heard about your ordeal from other riders at the event. My wife and I rode from Bridgeport to Sonora through the pass and it was a 2nd gear proposition most of the way until we reached the summit. The ride was great but definitely not a place to have a...

    2014's Coming

Just Spoke to a Local Dealer About 2014 Changes I stopped by Temecula Motorsports on Friday to kill some time between business appointments. I started talking to a salesman (who seemed quite knowledgeable about Spyders) about possible changes to the RT for 2014. He said that from what he has...

    Comfort Seat

Try the Ultimate Seat if Possible I found the stock seat to be too restrictive for me. I am only 5'9" tall but have long arms and felt really cramped before getting the Ultimate Tallboy seat and riders backrest. After a recent 1300 mile ride with my wife we were both very happy with the...

Baker Air Wings or BRP Adjustable Wind Deflectors?

Try the BRP's First I just finished a 1300 mile ride with the BRP wind deflectors and found them to be a great addition. They provided both me and my wife with the extra air that I needed. I regularly ride in temperatures approaching 100 and it was a wee bit on the hot side prior to...

    Queston on the comfort seat.

Check out the Ultimate Seat My wife is about the same size as yours and we just switched over to the Ultimate Seat (tallboy model) for more room for me! She initially thought the loss of appx. 2" would be a problem but after several rides she has no issues whatsoever. We got the Passenger...

    Spyders in the redwoods,ca

Birthday/ Anniversary Ride My wife and I will be leaving Redlands on Friday afternoon taking a leisurely ride up Hwy 395 to the event. There are so many great places to stop and visit in the area that we figured we'd get an early start and spend a few days sightseeing before we roll into...

    Full face or 3/4 Helmet

Check out ordering it from Revzilla. That's where I got mine and they have great customer service. If it doesn't fit, return it without any hassle. Also, they consistently beat their estimated shipping times...at least to me in So. Cal. (probably from their Las Vegas warehouse). Finally, the...

    Full face or 3/4 Helmet

Best of Both Worlds! I too have gone between open face and modular helmets until recently. I purchased a Nolan N43E Trilogy helmet that has a removable chin bar that locks into place. I am sure it is not quite as strong as an integrated chin bar but it allows me to quickly convert the helmet...
