• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    HOT - HOT - HOT

    Dealer replaced the y gasket at the 9000 mile service (under warranty). Haven't mustered enough courage to wear shorts since the replacement, but spyder continues to run hot (never want to get caught in bumper to bumper traffic, as it will inevitably reach 7 bars and enter limp mode).

    GS Rear Tire Mileage at Replacement ?

    Had to replace all three tires at only 9k miles... front tires wore excessive on the inside... service department is adamant that the alignment cannot be adjusted, which most of us know to be untrue... their suggestion was to rotate (swap out) the fronts occasionally.

    Question on Helmets...

    I wear the HJC (SY-MAXII). It is great for open-face riding or closed for highways. Also agree on the benefits of the sun shield and the ease of putting on glasses. Bulky profile though.

    Front Tires

    Don't ever get your tires changed at the Spyder dealer (unless they are more reasonable than most). My dealer wanted to charge me 118.oo plus tax. Local tire dealer mounted and balanced both front tires for a $20 dollar bill. That's a heap of savings!

    ynot... I was with 1/11th ACR in Fulda, Germany in the early 70s. The Asia war games were winding down at the time (thankfully).
