• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Rode North on Hwy CA 101 up to the rest area near Trinidad CA, and stopped to clean my faceshield and mirrors. It was sunny when I left, but foggy up North, and a bit chilly.

    Rode down South to Fortuna, CA to visit my Brother. Nice ride, and no wind or mist.

    Went on a short 30 mile ride around Humboldt Bay. Used my Gerbing heated gauntlet gloves for the 1st time in a while. It's freezing here. 50° lol

    Today, I might go for another ride. I just got through cleaning it up and doing the pre-flight inspections and fluid checks. While cleaning the left wheel, I found a roofing nail with half of the head wedged between the tire sipes on the Vredestein tread! It didn't penetrate the carcass. Whew...

    Went for a ride down to southern Humboldt county for lunch. Its 54° & sunny, but it's a tad chilly at 70 mph.

    Made it official today. Got the California tag, drivers license, and M1 (motorcycle) endorsement. Didn't need the M1 for the Spyder in CA, but I've had a motorcycle license continually since 1973, so I had to do it.

    I've only noticed the extra weight when riding into high winds (no windshield). Other than that I don't.

    I added a Brake Free Light on my helmet, and I have been told by Bikers & cagers that they most definitely can see me. I really like it. I also have a white helmet that stands out. I wanted a black helmet, but I choose white for safety.

    Lighting makes a big difference when it comes to being seen. I've got the A-arm LED's on mine, and I know people see me better now.
