• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Insurance Options - Time to look for another agent?

Try Geico. You can go to their site and play with the coverages, watching how the price changes. They will cover your Spyder immediately online...NO AGENTS!

Well there's your problem...you should have STARTED with the Southern Comfort! :roflblack:

    Fused electrical distribution block

Excellent! This is exactly what I do, although I positioned the marine fuse block in a different place. The other thing this can allow is the use of LED turn signal strips that blink WITH your OEM turn signal lights, eliminating that confusing alternate flashing ;) Nice job explaining, BTW...

    Replacement Grips

I installed Kuryakyn Isogrips on my 2010...would be the same. I chose all black because I'm not a chrome freak, but either will work. Not too hard to install, and a HUGE improvement, plus, they look cool! They do leave your hands with a rubbery smell for some time though. If you have small hands...

2014 RT-S Garmin Zumo 590 wiring harness question

Ahhh good ole BRP, their wiring colors are such a crap-shoot! The green wire with the BLACK stripe is (+). If there's one thing I've learned about Spyders, it is to check every wire with a test light. On my previous RSS, the left and right turn signals were wired with the same color wires, but...

2014 RT-S Garmin Zumo 590 wiring harness question

Hey trikermutha, thanks for posting! That's the point to this post... I don't have the large loose connector with a dust cover that people have to tap into with pins and adapter cables, etc. that I'm seeing in posts and videos on this subject. There is one large connector plugged into the head...

2014 RT-S Garmin Zumo 590 wiring harness question

Thanks for the quick reply Rob! I have the manual and I have no questions how to hook the GPS up. Also, I have run the Garmin supplied harness back to the Spyder radio area. I just want to make sure those unused connectors BRP left back there are power, ground, and input for the GPS to run...

2014 RT-S Garmin Zumo 590 wiring harness question

Hey guys! I've been searching through some confusing information on the sound system harness as it applies to connecting a Garmin Zumo 590 (non-BRP kit)... adapters, various cables, splicing, etc. What I found under the side panel at the radio head unit on this 2014 seems too simple to trust, so...

    RT front tire balancing

Wow! Similar experience here. I took 2 loose tires (new-non-Kenda) and 2 new wheels into a beautiful local dealer, asking them to mount and balance the pair. When I picked them up, I was charged $85, but I noticed, when putting them in the back of my truck, there were NO WEIGHTS on them! I was...

    Little farkeling today....

Personally, I don't think the textured carbon would have near the effect of the domed REAL CARBON product! I used and loved the textured carbon striping from Pete, and it is fantastic. But the sparkling "underwater" effect of the domed 3D is incredible!

    Little farkeling today....

Love that carbon fiber kit! I installed it on my 2010 RSS and it has lasted for years with no issues. The pieces are cut perfectly and fit like a glove. I now have it on my 2014 RTS! As with all decal mods, the surface preparation is key to adherence:thumbup:

    make it sound better

I do plan to keep the stock silencer. I will give my opinion on the sound after installation. I might try to record the change but I don't have much confidence in the reliability of that reproduction. We'll see :dontknow:

    make it sound better

I'm with Chupaca! If you have the 998 V-Twin, it's hard to beat the sound of the Yoshi. When I started my 2010 RSS to warm it up, my Harley neighbor would come out and comment on how good it sounded...throaty. rumbly, poppy, but not annoyingly loud. Owning a 2014 RTS now, I'm know that wonderful...
