• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Very Short Distance Towing over weight limit. Good or bad? You vote.

Thanks for all the great input! The trailer does have a tongue wheel and can be manhandled on smooth pavement. Most of the time that will work. Likewise when I can get a pull through I'll take it. And I'm really happy to hear that many campgrounds have storage areas. That will be the ideal...

Very Short Distance Towing over weight limit. Good or bad? You vote.

I have an aluminum trailer that weighs 710 LB's empty. I'll be using it to haul my 2014 RT with our motor home. I'm a new motor home owner and not experienced at backing up the beast (35 ft) much less with a trailer attached. Most campsites are laid out as "back in" configurations. Since I...

4 years of lurking and window shopping

That red is the first color to make me envious of cognac. Not envious enough to trade my 2014 in, but envious just the same. Congratulations and great choice!

    Enclosed Trailers

Sorry for hijacking, but is anyone towing a trailer with an RV? Considering a small class A with a trailer for the Spyder

    Action Camera for RT 2014

I have a Drift and a GoPro. I replaced them with two Garmin Virbs for my 11,000 trip this summer. I like the Garmins much more than the other two. Mainly because of their built in GPS. Plus, as Dill said, the prices for the discontinued models are a great deal.

    why ride a spyder

The main reason I ride it? It looks cool as hell and I appreciate the engineering. I'd ridden two wheelers on and off since my first (Honda CB 550) back in 1980. I was seriously thinking of buying a Goldwing when our company got an opportunity to pitch work (we build web sites) to this Canadian...

    Schuberth Helmet and Sena 10c

I have a Schuberth C3 and a Sena SMH 10 so this is not a pure apples to apples comparison for you. I found the Sena installation to be a little more difficult than our previous helmets (a Nolan and a Shoei). This was mainly due to inadequate wiring lengths for the Sena button mic and the...

Help! Stranded in Alabama with frozen ignition.

I'm back on the road. The tech from Hall's Motorsports worked through the afternoon to replace the switch. I'd like to thank them for making me a priority and thanks to all of you who contributed to this thread. I'm 1/3 of the way through my trip. Now it's on to California, up to Washington, and...

Help! Stranded in Alabama with frozen ignition.

I know. They are telling me both the tag number and the VIN need to match.

Help! Stranded in Alabama with frozen ignition.

The tow driver used my crescent wrench to loosen and then release the cable at the rear wheel.

Help! Stranded in Alabama with frozen ignition.

The service desk is telling me the VIN/key tag combination is NOT on the service bulletin. Right now they are pulling the switch out. They believe something is physically preventing the key from being fully inserted.

Help! Stranded in Alabama with frozen ignition.

Thanks, I'll point this out to the dealer when I get there. The service manager said they have not seen this issue before.

Help! Stranded in Alabama with frozen ignition.

Thanks all. The truck is in the way. I'll have it towed to Halls. My key tag number is 1760. Not sure if that number was in the service bulletin. I've never had a DESS error. The bike was delivered in February of 2014 so it's relatively early in the production run.

Bob, No. I've had it into the dealer a few times but they've never mentioned the service bulletin.
