• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Brake Failure - C1282 - Fixed!

I finally corrected the "BRAKE FAILURE" message that's been scrolling across the display on my '08 GS for months. There was never anything wrong with the brakes - the message just appeared for no apparent reason. The error code was C1282 - Low Brake Pressure. Turns out the problem was a flaky...

    Need opinions on exhaust set-up

I also have the Two Brother slip-on. Great pipe, easy install. I also run a K&N filter and no juice box and I don't have the popping prob some owners experience. If you go with the 2 Bros pipe, you'll want the add-on PowerTip sound suppressor to quiet it down, otherwise you WILL wake the neighbors!

    Brake Failure - need info

That's great info! I'll try bleeding the brakes when i get my service manual. Did the "Brake Failure" message go away by itself after you bled the brakes?

    Brake Failure - need info

Hi Gang, I have a 2008 GS with 3400 miles and I got a "Brake Failure" message after work the other day. Brakes feel fine and I was able to ride home. Checked the brake fluid and it's right at the top but I added a couple tablespoons to each reservoir for good measure. Also checked the parking...

    Hesitation on hard right turns

Hi Gang, I have a '08 GS and have noticed lately that the engine stumbles a little when I accelerate hard around a right corner. I never noticed it before, but then I'm slamming corners harder than i used to, since I'm now more used to the way a Spyder handles. Is this normal? Is nanny...

    Frunk power??

location for power outlet Waking up an old thread... I plan to install a power outlet in the trunk of my RS this weekend. For the folks who have done this already, where exactly in the trunk did you mount the outlet? I'm just using an off-the-shelf power socket, not the BRP kit so I won't have...

    Painting the vents

Spray paint For parts like the vents, spray paint in a rattle can will work fine. I've never had much success spraying glossy colors on smooth surfaces - it always comes out looking splotchy compared to paint sprayed with a compressor and gun. But since the vents don't have any smooth, flat...

Gas smell after riding Spyder - Solved!

I bought my used RS in January of this year, and a few months later started noticing a strong gas smell when I parked it in the garge after a ride. At first, I thought the gas smell might be due to the rising temps here in Phoenix and I even modifed the evap cannister vent tube, believing it was...

    Fuel leak

More info Here's a pic of where the fuel is leaking... With the engine running, fuel will leak from this black connector. The connector doesn't fit tightly on the white male fitting - it's loose. What is this line? I'll assume it's not the fuel supply to the engine. I believe the fuel supply is...

    Fuel leak

Started up my RS tonight since it's been sitting for about a month. After a few minutes, I began to smell gas and noticed fuel dripping from the right side. I pulled the plastics and found the leak was coming from one of the quick-connect fuel line connectors at the top of the tank - the black...

Are There Still People Out There Who Don't Think Helmets Are Necessary?

where do the insurance co's stand? Seems to me the insurance companies would benefit more if motorists died in crashes than if they were injured - simply because a funeral costs less than surgery, rehab and long term care. So I where a helmet just to pi$$ off the insurance co's! ;)

Should I buy new or used?

new or used? I had the same "new or used" dilemma when I bought my Spyder recently. I found that here in AZ, the dealers wouldn't budge much from MSRP. In other states - TX, OK, AK - the dealers offered pretty liberal discounts on their new Spyders. If buying a new Spyder in another state...
